Hey all.

I'm not having much luck at all with click bank. I've tried out a few products on my website and I seem to only be getting 1 sale every 1-2 weeks. Do you guys think I should just sell my own product on my website through ejunkie or something? And make the product a bit cheaper than the ones I've been promoting on click bank? I'm pretty sure it's because of the price. People aren't even coming to my site with a desire to buy anything. Maybe that's why my sales are so low? So if I offer a good product at a lower price, maybe people will buy more?

Any of you guys played around with this before?

If people aren't coming to your website looking to buy something, maybe target different keywords (this is called "buyer keywords") For example, the keyword "widgets" will result in people coming to your site who are just looking for information or doing research. If you target "order widgets online" or "cheap widgets" or something, in addition to the main keyword, you'll probably get more sales.

I'm kind of confused about what you're doing as well. You have your own product to sell, but you're promoting other products on the side? Promoting your own is just about always more profitable; if it's a good product that converts well, you'll have an army of affiliates working their asses off to make sales for you while you sit there doing nothing (although a smart choice would be to create an affiliate page and provide resources to help them make sales; banners, email templates and stuff...)

Clickbank products are much harder to convert. You should have good list for better conversions. It`s easier to convert Amazon products. Commission is lower but conversion is way better. Also there are some other affiliate programs which may convert better for you than Clickbank. But if your traffic isn`t targeted to buy (or to find solutions to their problems buy promoting Clickbank) then there`s no need to change the affiliate program cause the traffic won`t convert anyway.

Cheers

You haven't provided enough information really.

Does your product offered to your audience co-relate to your website's main topic? Because you can't sell bicycles on a site that is all about cooking. They really won't have the desire to buy.

And forget about the price - people love to spend HIGH amount on something they see as a quality product/service.

A sale every 2 weeks is very good in some niches. If you are getting like $40 a month as profit. Build 10 more sites the same way and you will get $400. Invest your earning in outscoring 10 more sites the same way. That's $800 a month. I think You are in the correct bath but you need to be more patient. GL

Thanks all! I guess I should make more sites and give it more patience. Just to clarify, I don't have my own product but could easily set one up. I would be an eBook as that's what I'm an affiliate for. I don't know if eBooks don't convert much? That may also be a reason for my low sales?

You really need to start seeing "affiliate" marketing as a much wider game.

Clickbank is merely a option for your traffic you can make money with.

A lot of people have that mind-set to create websites/ventures based around a network, while in fact it all comes down to payouts, conversion rates, trust in the network and possibly the payment terms.

If you think the volume you are sending now is worth the trouble of setting up the product on your own and deal with VAT taxes and such, you should definitely go for it.

Clickbank hardly has anything to do with your sales, it's the offer that counts whether it's on Clickbank, CJ or Planet Mars.

Traffic is the name of this game and where there is traffic there will always be offers on all kinds of networks.

:)

Ok, you know something I hate to do? Bake cookies! I absolutely HATE baking cookies! But if someone told me I could make 6 figures/month baking cookies then your damn right i'd be in that kitchen.

I think that's what a lot of people are doing when it comes to this work, not realizing that IT IS a business, and ALL business take time to build and gain a following. The money is in the list, look around you McDonald's puts out new ads all the time, so they can give their FOLLOWERS something to want. A nice juicy triple stacked cheesburger (with bacon). They engage with their list frequently and constantly offer them new things, IM is no different.

Sure you can open a brick and mortar and have a few people pass by give it a look, some come inside ask about your menu, and some buy, but all the ones making a killing are ENGAGED with their fans.

If your not willing to put your blood sweat and tears into your fans and building fans, then don't expect to last more than a few years, or more than likely as with TONS of IMers only a few months. That's just how i feel.

keyword targeting and monitoring conversions is crucial. may want to try whatrunswhere to see what your traffic is doing.
