Should I get a .US domain?

So firstly, I am not from US. Namecheap is giving me a good deal on .us domain and it looks good.
Should I get it? Or will I have problem with Google later, if they ask me to provide a certificate, I wont be able to.

I think its worth it, especially if your site is about local content. Could be quite nice in terms of SEO.
