I just started an affiliate site and only have about 12 posts so far. I know that a lot of you have had success with Youtube + affiliate marketing, but is it something I should focus on doing now? Or should I stick with targeting low comp keywords and driving organic traffic?

How do you guys do keyword research for youtube vids, and what are your videos like? Do you just use images you find from online and voiceover, or do you actually film yourself with the products giving reviews?

I have a keyword in mind but all the videos ranking don't get a ton of views (number 1 result has 811 views in a year) and youtube videos dont show up in SERP for this keyword. What are your thoughts?

Which one do you like better/ can stick to consistently?

Only you know the answer.

You should do both, and perhaps benefit from the snowball effect in a long run.
Anyway, you said that you've just started. The most important thing is to keep working, keep adding quality content (whether on YT or on your website), and be patient. Do not focus much on conversions at this point. Just keep doing good work and they will come ;)

You should take both into account, but I think content is more important. High quality content is conducive to increasing traffic
