Hi,

for a very long time, I'm interested in making games. I made my own 2D game engine with a Particle-System, Light-System and many more features.
Also made an easy to use editor to build games. Made everything myself in the past 2,5 years.

Before starting making a game with my engine I needed some cash to pay for some nice game art. My Student job was enough to cover bills and food. I couldn't spend much cash on my projects.

Early 2016 I found this forum and taught myself Html/PHP/SQL. I read a lot about internet marketing which would be useful to promote my games too.

I tried some methods here but nothing really worked out. I tried the IG + CPI method spent some cash but my accounts got banned and I didn't want to burn more money on this.

Also tried uploading porn, made my own bot to upload on some websites. But this method requires lots of work and you get nothing back. Maybe worth it if you do this for years.

Also made some websites in my learning phase, got approved for adsense earned like 300$ then my account got banned with the reason "Incentive Traffic". It was a gaming website where people could trade their ingame items. I had trouble monetizing the site and just dropped it.

I fucked up university because focused on these things which interested me more.

In the past months I literally did nothing, had no motivation for anything just slept all day.

Now I lost my path, but I feel strongly motivated to start something again.

I think I should get a Full Time job, use my free time to build a game on my engine and advertise it while it is in development and try a Kickstarter campaign later.

What would you do in my situation?

If you feel strongly motivated to do it - then DO IT. Also getting a job is great but it will cost you time. But it would be less risky of course.

Seems you enjoy programming, you could maybe try to offer such services as a freelancer and work on your own games on the side. That's how I'm making a living actually, using marketing tactics I learned here to promote my services (which are not related to SEO).

Working in-house is an option too for sure, but it potentially leaves you with less free time and it may be hard to switch back to freelance.
