Should I do a Kickstarter campaign?

    Hello folks.

I have been working the past few months on a big project with a few teams for an enterprise iPad application - it's a reinvented time clock for businesses (one iPad mounted to the wall of a business location) and features facial recognition clock in, and has all the time, attendance, scheduling, payroll, and inbox management services for employees and employers (as well as a Web Admin Panel). It's going great.. finishing up this week. My question is, how well would this work on a Kickstarter campaign? I mean, we have all the info and details set up, as well as *discounted subscriptions* as rewards.

Would this work well on Kickstarter? In order to get the attention of business owners, would I have to do a large-scale PR campaign?

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

A lot of the people on kickstarter are more of a younger crowd looking for something cool and fun and innovative that they can be a part of. Not sure if an app targetting businesses would fit this, however, you'd never know until you tried. IMO, it'd be worth the time to give it a go and see what happens.

It might be helpful to go to a forum that specializes in this method, to learn the details and follow real world case examples or journeys:

Nah I wouldn't recommend a kickstarter campain. I mean if its a app for ios your gonna have to upload it to the app store anyway so there is really nothing to offer that would be special to the funders. Plus as SeanAustin said most of those people are younger category people that probably don't own a business so they won't find use in your application.

I would just go up to a few local businesses and introduce them and educate them on your product, probably work a lot better.

Sure you can, you just have to go about it in the right way. Don't just launch it and that's it, or you'll fail. You have to market it properly and build hype..
