I have read in a few threads that webmaster tools and analytics allow Google to track your website and see any blackhat activity. I keep the blackhat to a minimum but if i need to then I would remove webmaster tools and analytics.

what do you guys think?

In my opinion yes.

Yes they can see all backlinks and links of your site.

m deleting them right now..... man this new update is so troublesome.

i cant seem to find the option to remove the whole accounts . i deleted all the profiles in the account - hope that works

While we're on the topic of Google Analytics, if you want something free and open source you can use Piwik. Another good one that mocks GA is openwebanalytics.com. 2 good choices
I dont know for latest version of Piwik but if you run many sites at your server be careful about the resources Piwik uses

Yes, Piwik can be very CPU intensive. Also, if proper maintenance isn't made, DB can grow to several hundred MBs per site per month.
Never tried OWA. Gonna give it a chance.

on-topic: bigG can still see your sites and related "activity"... if you drop webmaster tools you can be penalized much in the same way, drop SERPs, etc., but you won't know about it (you can't read the dreaded messages "unnatural something bla-bla-bla).

They can see where all your links are coming from anyways. That's how they rank you. Using Google WebMaster Tools allows you to see them.

As for Analytics, they would be allowed to see the visitor activity, but why not just make a site that encourages users to stay?

That's exactly what I was thinking

Thats true what you say.

I use the wordpress jetpack for my analytics now. I rather play on the safe side since there is a debate about keeping or tossing webmaster and G analytics.

I have sites that encourage people to stay but the majority of clicks come from google. without rankings, my website is doomed to fail

Get rid of them, they up to no good.

Its best to check whether the alternative service you'll be using is not owned by Google as well. I know that Google bought some competitors in the Analytics field recently.

There's NO reason to use either, there's viable alternatives for nearly all of the features that both tools offer.

If anything, I'd recommend removing Analytics first and foremost. That opens up your site to complete analysis, whereas Webmaster tools doesn't.

Yes, dump them.

I would dump everything associated with Google, even adsense, if you can.

Actually i don't know what should i say??? Cause i am using Google analytic in some of my sites where i totally use Black Hat. But still they are OK and working good. SO from my view its not a problem.

I'd never use any of these Google tools. I don't trust that weasel Matt Cutts or Google.

Using google webmaster tools or analytics its stupid and pointless.

I see people here saying that GWMT could be useful for be warned about unnatural promotion patterns, I get warned by unnatural promotional patterns by SERP results, I don't need any other service.
