Should I delete copyright claim videos?

If you have nothing to gain from the videos anymore I would delete them. Just to be on the safe side especially because you’re looking for longevity in your channel such as being monetized. Obviously you can monetize other ways but most people want the ads and since you’re not approved already it’s better to be safe than sorry for when the time comes to apply.

Also moving forward make sure you use royalty free music. You can get claimed so easily using background music.
 
Ive read in some forums to mute the video....I tried it once and the copyright claim was gone. Im still thinking to do it to all the copyrighted vids since I am about to reach the requirements for monetization....or may I should just delete them all. to be safe
 
Delete them. You can use youtube copyright free music for your videos.
 
If you get a warning, deleting it doesn't change the duration of the warning, but I think delete it.. Copyright Claims will NOT affect your monetization status. You are just not able to monetize the videos.

You can use it to attract people to your page if you have no warning, just can't make money, but ....

many say it will jeopardize your monetization chance so I dont know if it works or not
 
My opinion;

Original content always brings zero risk and prestige. Do not keep content that is copyrighted in your account. Skip the deletion I think you should never install.
 
Instead of deleting just replace the background music with some ncs music in youtube editor.
 
I don't think you need to. In fact Youtube itself does mention , in their message if any copyright strike
just that if the video got ad , the earnings and click , view go to the origin creator, if I remember.

Unless something serious like copy rights from popular video , or channel will get that copyright strike , I remember like 4 tick ? you will get ban
but these ticks will get expire provide you don't get over 4 ticks .
 
youtube doesn't care about copyright claims, it allows them to run ads on shitty videos that would otherwise be unmonetized. the rights holders like them too because it they get paid. the only thing is if you have like 50 videos with copyright claims and 2 without and you apply for channel monetization you'll get denied. strikes are the only thing that can really hurt you.

yes delete them , and besides what this guy said , if you are monetized and have many videos with copyright claims, ofc u may not get striked but you will get demonetized for re used content .

so best is to delete them
 
the other thing to keep in mind is that the people putting in manual claims get annoyed when you waste their time and are then more likely to strike you if you use copyrighted material constantly and then just edit out the claims. if the claims were automatic from content id you can just remove them easily with the youtube editor instead of deleting the video.
 
I have several videos with this, I don't really care i dont think it effects anything. You just can't make money of it from what I know.
 
Has someone monetized a channel with a copyright-claimed video on it?

DO NOT delete them if they just disable the monetization on particular video, they will still earn views, and you get potential subscribers/fans. The more videos you have the better. Now if youtube blocks them completely they are useless, delete them and upload them without copyright ;)

People here are confusing copyright claims with copyright strikes.
