Building a Page with facebook ads is not a good idea you will get targeted likes but once you will stop spending your reach will be very low

If you have a humor site make a page around your site/niche use facebook ads to give you at least 100% ROI post quality content engage your users

Its better than you building a half million page then monetizing it

Its hard to monetize fb pages these days, and once the page is dead, it becomes almost impossible.

@Y M C B you are right but if you check some big pages, they are amazing active and they only post their links, and links gets 2k-20k likes

DO NOT BUY ADS FOR LIKES (especially for humour niche). Facebook has decreased reach a lot, especially for pages in the entertainment niche, it would be better to buy shares from other pages, or use a likejacker and convert traffic into likes, you will spend a ton of money for likes if you decide to go with ads. Also, the humour niche is not very profitable, I'd keep my investments as low as possible.

i think the best way is to buy shares from other sites or to buy facebook ads for traffic - you should get clicks for 1-2 cent in this niche with clickbaiting posts. Then you only have to monetize it. You should also have a look at the shares on your site to get it viral...

Because people really enjoy its content, because the owner (I don't think it's the same one) used to work a lot of time to find and rewrite quality content that had the potential to be viral. Because they've grown organic, not paid for likes, because they know how facebook works (something you clearly don't).
An year ago, there were tons of pages in the entertainment niche, the newsfeed was flooded with their posts. After the updates, only few have survived, I'd say less than 10%. That is because they were of better quality and their fans took the time to go to the page and engage with their posts.
What you see now it's the "elite" of humour pages, the only ones that "survived". If you were telling me you're building a Search Engine, I'd say you're wasting time and don't stand a chance. Just because Google is doing it really well, it doesn't mean you'll be able to do it too.
Do you understand what I meant now?

Edit: Just a reminder, after they've adjusted the algorithm for reach, FB Ads work better than ever, I too gave up on my pages and switched over to FB Ads.

Not a good idea if you ask me. FB page reach is going down every month. FB can pull the rug out from under you anytime
