Being a novice in SEO, I deleted about 200 pages from my site and never bothered to redirect them. Soon after, my ranking dropped by 50%.

It's 1 year since I did that but I noticed these links still show up on ahref and the referring domains haven't dropped the links either.

What I want to do now is redirect all these links to relevant pages. Do you think its a wise thing to do, and will it make any difference.

Please SEO gurus give me some advice. Thanks in advance.

If they were getting traffic then rebuild them, else yes redirect them to relevant pages or homepage

Yes. You should add 301 redirect now even if it's been one year. It will not harm.

What you did is one sure way to killing a website quick. When I started much earlier I made similar mistake and it made me lose my first promising site.

Redirect the links to relevant pages or to the homepage. By The Way, you shouldn't have deleted a page that gets traffic because each redirect you do, reduces the link juice of a backlink.

Thank you guys, I'll redirect the links to relevant pages. I really appreciate the responses.

The pages were getting very little traffic and were what I tagged thin pages.
