Should i buy ps3 or xbox 360????

PS3 - Advantage: Built In Free Blu Ray + Free Online Game Play (Best Value for your money)

XBOX - Probably a larger assortment of games available - Has the new kinect add on

Wii - If you like to get off your ass and move around while playing games this one is for you (even though xbox and ps3 have their add on kinect and camera sensor wii is always a blast with friends when playing sports and action games etc+ Wii Online is also Free but not as many user as xbox and ps3 communities

OUYA - Maybe consider this one - it is a new open source console that has open source games, meaning the community will probably explode with all kinds of neat games to come out by publishers and coders alike. and its pretty cheap.

My Suggestion: make enough money to be able to buy all three because it is hard to really point out which one is best, each person is different and enjoys different games and ways to play.

Me if I had to pick one, probably would be the xbox, only because I already have 3d tv, blu ray, so the ps3 wouldnt do me any good. And the xbox is easily modded to where games and online play are really fun and easy to do with free time. But that is only if I was single w No kids. See I have wife and kids. so if you asked my kids they would tell you Wii all the way. So I would say best bet is to have an xbox and a wii, and if we had no blu ray then I probably would invest in a ps3 to add to collection for the whole family. So there you go, there is my two cents worth....

I have PS3 - I play a couple games and use the Blu Ray player

but also use the Amazon Prime Video App / Netflix App

they also have a bunch of pro sports you can stream - and I know Xbox does alot of the same things
but you really can't beat the value a PS3 has got as it pretty much covers all bases.

So between Apple TV / Ipad / Tivo and PS3 -- its pretty sweet.

Firstly, this isnt gaming forum

Second, Games are waste of time

Third Investing in somethin online would be way better and after time you could buy both when you have enough $$$

And who are you again to decide what's a waste of time? Things you enjoy doing are _NOT_ a waste of time. This is the lounge, the OP can discuss gaming if he likes to do so. Stop backseat moderating.

@OP

I own a PS3 because of some exclusive games, but the xbox controller is waaay better.

Anyone find this a bit weird?

Gears Of War - A Xbox 360 Exclusive
God Of War - A PS3 Exclusive

It all depends on what you want to do and play. I have been an avid gamer since the release of Atari 2600.

If you just want to play video games offline, ps3 is good for that. If you want to play online with friends and family, xbox360 all the way. PS3 has access to playing games online too, but everyone uses xbox live.

I like xbox360, but I prefer pc gaming overall.

Yeah man, I agree. S-NES games were the best!

Having said that, I have only owned Sony consoles ever since the PS2 came out. Before the PS2 I usually had them all.

You'd think that would label me as a sony exclusive person. Well, that's true really, I do tend to prefer only to have one console, but 360's really have a lot of things that make me jealous. You can play your own music while playing the game, in EVERY game, not just in certain titles. The communication options with your friends online is much easier, you can send voice messages, and voice chat with your friends, even if you are playing separate games. Even sending game invites to friends is much easier, often times on PSN this is so hard to do....it can be frustrating!

While PS3 certainly has many great titles that are exclusive to it, and has been getting better at this than they previously have been, the number of 360 exclusive titles, especially with the smaller game developers boggles the mind.

As for many PS3 owners referring to the extra storage capacity of the bluray disc as it benefits games....it's true, sure, but believe me, it is NEVER utilized. Since bluray has a slower read speed than 360, what they commonly have to do is have many parts of the game data located on the disc in multiple sections so it can be read by the PS3 in time to be processed. Additionally, the number of games that *ACTUALLY* require more space than is available off a dual layer DVD is so small it's not even funny. This is seriously easy to see now that PS3 has finally stepped up lately in offering more full game titles available as digital downloads...the space required for these games is so much smaller than what you would think.

But yeah, PS3 playing bluray is great, and I use mine for blurays all the time, but keep in mind a bluray player nowadays is so cheap it's not even funny!

If you play console games a lot on a PS3, you'll probably find as many do, that paying for PSN+ is really worth it, while it's not required at all, it does help *a little bit* to compare the online service to 360, so the old argument of PSN being free while Live is not, is a bit more complicated than it used to be.

Above all else though, it's been mentioned before the best piece of advice is to find out what game system your friends are more likely to be using, and buy that. If you only want one console, it's seriously the best thing to do. If all of your friends have one console and you have the other, you won't be able to play games with them.

So that's my two cents, coming from a person who exclusively uses a PS3, but readily admits their 360 envy.

A pc with good graphics card is well enough to play almost all games in med settings if you r a gaming freak then you can go for gaming devices.....

I doubt how many of us are going to choose gaming niche after this thread :D

thnx guys...xbox working pretty well...Its the GOW3 special 360...320gb hard drive...already finished gears of war 3

Xbox 360 all the way - don't like the PS3 controller + I personally think the Kinect add-on is way better than PS3 eye.
