Should I buy it?

So I found this (expired) domain. It has my keyword and doesn't sound bad. But it has no backlinks, it's just old (2001). Just wondering if it's still worth buying. Or if I'm better off using a "new" domain with a name I can really choose.
What would be the perks of using an old domain with no backlinks?

A domain registered in 2001 should be gold, BUT; it doesn't make it worth it. If you are paying reg fee, buy it always (what would you lose, 7.99? Hmm). If it is a premium domain, check the stats. Depends.

Honestly, except for the fact that it is old, it doesnt look like it has any value... no backlinks. Moz and Ahrefs metrics are really low.
Im thinking it would prevent me from spending some time in Google's sandbox(?).

How much are you paying? Reg fee?

It does not always work like what we think. If you are paying the reg fee, get it. If you still do not want to get it, give it to me please. I will happily waste my money. :p

A good domain name is always gold, specially if it is a .com one. Don't worry what the SEO guys tell you right now. You could be a billionaire after a year.

P.s. Anything more than $20.... skip it.

Yes reg fee only, the usual $5 a year.
Hahaha sorry, I'll take that one :p

Pay it man. How much is it? McDonald bill for a day? Just try it out. Domains are gonna get reused anyway. Good domains are limited.

go for it. It has age. Just supply what it needs yourself

Grab it. If it's on auction.
Wait till the last hour and bid when the auction is left for 5 mins.
There are thousands of people scrapping expired domains everyday and those that recieve bids often come to their attention. This guys are having thousands of money
Just my two cents

Just buy it for 5 bucks man. Even if you just 301 it to something else it might provide benefit.
