for PBNs I would stick with the most known TDLs and not play with co.*

AFAIK it's a free domain service. Just try it. Not much too lose. If it has good metrics and if it has had some traffic in the past (check Semrush history index), then it will be fine.
I'm not very picky with domain, except with those that are extremely expensive.

I don't believe in the "spammyness" of the domains. I've seen great sites in all kind of domains so far. Theoretically, the only hinder could be a longer sandbox, but your plans shall not be ranking, just authority transmission.
