If you want to build just a blog, my recommendation is to pick a decent Robust theme company that you like out-of-the-box templates and use your favorite. They keep their themes updated and usually have a team of developers. Then make minimum customizations with wp plugins (PLUG: search for my guide how to make those easy and fast) Till your happy without going overboard. Start writing.
I recommend for writing you spend a couple of weeks just building a mind map first of the topic, and then writing from the mind map, and supplement your knowledge and map with more searches.

My experience after building multiple blogs is that ranking a blog now is a bit tricky.
First, you need to focus on becoming a topical authority. Focus on just one sub-niche or even sub-sub-niche and cover it completely. This way you will stand a chance. The other technical things are basic and other people are doing it. Also, you may get a headstart with an old or expired domain. It always helps to give you a boost from the start, which gives you that confidence to push on.

I am new to blogging, I bought a website on BHW, it seems I have not tried hard enough to learn and study, so it has been more than a month of regularly publishing articles (using AI), but the website still has no traffic. Maybe I will order an SEO package on BHW soon.

The decision depends on your goals, priority and time you have.
If you have enough time, your goal is to learn how to build websites and offer such a service in future then you should do it your own. You can keep improving the website whenever you have time. I am sure you will learn a lot more by practically doing it rather than just reading about it. You can't have a perfect and all-feature stuff website in one go, you will need to keep improving it at times. You cannot even buy a perfect website in one go and will need to upgrade that timely as and when required.
But if you are focused on your current skills of writing and want to spend time in polishing it and monetize it faster rather then slowing it down to learn new skills then you should buy a website.

When you say buying a site, do you mean hiring developers to make it, using a premade template, or buying it off something like flippa?

In case your purpose is to have great traffic and can generate revenue and you just need to focus on writing and not design, but buying a website is very expensive, think carefully before spending some money on this

It mainly depends on what product you are making. If it is an ordinary product, you can directly register an account on a third-party platform. If it is a special product, you can find a service provider to buy a website and concentrate on promoting it yourself.

Is buying a site going to fix these issues long term? You'll have some content, which you could hire out anyway, but now how will you keep it updated and active with no new ideas and no method for producing quality content.

I think as long as your article is good enough, there will be a lot of people to come, the site is just a medium and platform, play is a supporting role

if you can afford buying a decent site that looks way better, why not ? The only things that I do myself are the ones that really need my attention. We have a dev that takes cares of site, we have a chat support that takes care of customers. Soon we will have people to work on blogs and SEO maybe. I only do the things that matter, if you focus on doing everything yourself you can not scale. So get more money and get people to work

Hi. If you're feeling limited by building the website yourself and want to focus only on writing, buying a pre-built website might be the better option.
However you may try WordPress themes or templates. This will allow you to create a website yourself, but not waste a lot of time.

From my experience, ranking is not as easy as people want to make it. I found this forum after multiple failures and got my breakthrough here after advise from a member.
Just ask yourself, how soon can a student be more versatile than his teacher? Let us assume that you can write very well. What about technical seo that has to do with how well the site was made? Writing good articles is not enough, the structure of the site is also a top determining factor.
You can replace money, but you cant replace time. I leant this the hard way. The time you will waste trying to see if your site was well built to beat the old gurus, you cant get it back if it fails. But the money you spend buying a good site can be replaced if you fail.
If i were you, since you say your budget is small, I will look for a cheap site that is well built, buy it and get more help from the seller or others to make it even better, then continue writing on it. This was exactly what I did after wasting about 6 months trying to build a site by myself. That was the best investment I did in bloging. Now i have 8 blogs
