Yes you should. Even though Python might be considered basic it is surprising how often and how many places it can be used. Since it is a scripting language you don't have to worry about a lot of the other things you would with a language like C++. Any programming is good programming, and Python is a good stepping stone.

When it comes to making bots, there is no single programming language that can be described as "all you need"...

it is not a must that you learn it but it is important that you have its knowledge because you gonna need it some time later as you go deep into programming.it is safe to have the knowledge and practice with time

In my honest opinion I would say skip python, but then again I'm just a C style fanboy.
