Should I be worried?

Had just under 700k links a few days ago and now is at 1.2 million. For the past week or two the links have been growing faster an faster. This is all according to webmaster tools. Should I be worried? I have been building links for about 7 months now but it was at around 1000 untill a few weeks ago.

The first jump I wasn't surprised because I had been building a lot beforehand but the fact it kept growing and a lot faster was more surprising.
 
Well i guess there is not much to do about it . Wait and see what happends and ofc keep building :)

I will indeed keep building but that many links scares the shit out of me. Luckily it is a well aged domain but honestly I am thinking it is maybe a glitch? I built a lot of links but I really don't believe I built this many and the fact it randomly grew so fast.
 
I didn't spam anything? In fact most of the links I was bulding were from emailing people asking for a link on their page etc. not blog commenting or profiles. Minus a small list from a service here on the forum.

No I did not email that many people nor did I get that many people to post my link. I am saying that is the majority of link building I have been doing lately.
 
Maybe a competitor spamming links to your site everywhere, in an attempt to get you penalised or sandboxed?
 
Well according to my ranking so far they are only helping. Hope it only keeps helping but who knows could go either way.
 
you already have tons of links so i dont believe you will be penalized, on the contrary you will probably strenghten your SERPs
 
if those "natural" links link to your inner pages (and not targeting the same web page all over again with the same keyword) then you are good. I had a site with 60K backlinks and every time i made a new post, it always ranked quite nice in its own keyword within just 1-2 days (only for the low competition one though)
 
Most links are luckily to inner pages but I really don't see hopping to 1 million links looking natural.
 
I wouldn't worry about it, most of my sites have between 1 million - 4 million links in Google Webmaster Tools and they seem okay :) there's nothing that you can really do about it anyway, just continue building links.
 
I would simply say it looks great. May be your competitor is doing it.
