Recently I raped the competition and started ranking #1 for most of my targeted keywords....I've noticed recently a lottt of spam backlinks from BS sites...russian sites mostly and irrelevant websites....I've also noticed one of the other top 3 competitors has the exact same backlinks posted almost at the same times minutes part......I'm almost positive the other competitor of the top 3 is launching a smear campaign or something and having bad backlinks posted towards both of us....should I be worried? And what should I do?

If your website is new, you should be worried.

There isn't anything you can do really. You can try the google link disavow tool. I think thats the only thing you can 'do'. But I'm not sure how much it will help.

If your domain does end up getting it's rankings messed up because of this, try to 301 it to a new domain. Maybe you could regain your rankings.

    Welcome to blackhatworld bro.
We both know there are 2 ways to get on top.
First : build quality backlinks to your site
Second : spam the shit out junk backlinks to competitor's sites. So they die, you will survive

I guess the best option you have so far is to 301 direct them to another domain. Yet again, there's no harm in trying Google's disavow tool. Hope you get this settled, man.

why waste your time sending links to a competitor? either work harder on building good links to your own site, or start a new domain.

you don't even know who may be sending links your way; have you purchased any services recently? there could be many many reasons.

Stay focused on your own game-plan and you'll be fine. I would start a couple of new domains for related keywords. If you keep varying your efforts, no amount of "negative seo" will affect you. Plus, if your competitors are spending time and money spending links your way, they must be neglecting their own sites! Perfect opportunity to get some new domains ranked higher than them! Good luck.

In that case your golden. The extra links will temporarily help your site to rank IMHO. Google will eventually suss out what's going on and just ignore the links / some links will disappear anyway.

Either way don't worry about it. If the "SEO" who thought that spamming a 3 year old authority site was a good use of his day is your main competitor i'd break out a can of cider, light a joint and put your feet up for the day.

It's when you meet an SEO who is trying to remove links by social engineering, THAT'S the time to panic! Or if your website is 3 days old, which yours is definitely not!

UPDATE: Ok so the bullshit backlinks attack is still coming in steadily..not too much but about 10-15 a day(at least what opensiteexplorer is showing)...most of them have page authority in the teens or 20's....but they have thousands of comments on the articles so I know it can't be good...Also, my squidoo has been taken down yesterday....it's been fine for about 2 years suddenly it's taken down.....so I'm convinced that was part of the attack campaign

Question: I know you'll say "don't worry about it it's BS" but I have to ask. When I started marketing my site about 3 months ago, my alexa rank was horrible, about 16 mill. Recently I've driven it consistently up to 519k and it's been increasing(or i mean decreasing) steadily each day by about 6-10k, and my rank for the US has went as far as 102k and danced between 110-130 the past month. However, JUST IN THE PAST FEW DAYS ALONE, my alexa world rank jumped to 605k and my US rank jumped all the way the fuck to 290k.....could this be an early indicator of me getting screwed by google being that I'm getting BS backlinks in or? Because I'm falling...and I'm falling fast. HOWEVER my visitor count is about the same as last week, ALTHOUGH for the past 3 months, with each passing week, I've been getting a considerable increasing amount of visitors, now it seems to be at a standstill, if not JUST A BIT worse on average...I have to admit I've been slacking lately and posting about 2 articles per week, where before I would post 3-4, if that's a factor.

PS: keep in mind my marketing campaign is all halal/kosher. It's all social media and blog posts, legit, not spun. So I know this punishment isn't coming from my side.

On a sidenote I'm still dickin the competition and in first for the majority of my key terms and phrases..

You have old domain, so you should no worry about this.

But you can always use google webmaster tool to disavow these backlinks if you see it affects your search engine positions badly.

My main competitor(the one I believe i launching the negative seo campaign) has an even older domain(but only by about a year) is this gonna influence me or no?By that I mean replacing my rankings with hers.

Whoever is doing that shit has turned that serp into a battlefield, you can either do battle or find a different niche.

If that niche is very profitable, and worth spending time on, well, you should probably dust off your copy of xrumer.

It's a shitty situation, thats for sure... but besides trying to 301 the links somewhere else or using the disavow tool you can't do anything. If I was you, and you don't want to battle these idiots, then I'd start making new sites in new niches asap.

ps: keep doing whatever you do normally seo wise until/if something bad happens.
