Should blog content always be 100% unique, or is it acceptable to use citations and reference existing sources? What are the best practices for balancing originality and proper attribution in blogging today? Maybe there is some percentage of content that could be non-unique on a page?

Citations and references are acceptable, there is no problem about them. Just don't abuse the system, don't engage in spammy activities and you should be fine

mix of original and cited works fine. 80–90% ur own spin, 10–20% external data or quotes. just don’t copy blocks. paraphrase, link out, credit clean. originality = perspective, not perfect phrasing.

It’s fine to use quotes or sources, but your main ideas and voice should always be your own.
