I'm new to this forum so of course this controversy caught my eye immediately. From someone more or less on the outside looking in I am having a hard time understanding what all the fuss is about. First off, unless some posts have been deleted, I can't find where this Clayton guy was actively promoting his membership anywhere on this forum, and believe me, I've looked for it. The only references I can find directly from him were in defense of his program to some of the comments made by others. What I have been able to find basically boils down to this:
Two members of this forum seemed to be promoting Clayton's membership site as affiliates. One of them, Smitty, discovered some additional information at some point and decided to stop promoting it. What I'm really curious about is the other member of this forum, Monty, who was not only promoting it but gave an endorsement/testimonial regarding how great Clayton's membership site really is. No one seems to be too bent out of shape about this. In fact, it seems like a good portion of this forum are currently giving him props and support in his endeavor to quit his day job. Seems a bit hypocritical to me that no one is calling Monty out on this.
So what is Clayton really being banned for? He was not actively promoting his membership on this forum. Others were. So am I to assume that if I were to promote some product or membership on this forum as an affiliate, and the owner of this product or membership did not want to share it with the moderators of this forum, then you would all clamor to have this owner banned from this sight?
I agree with Metalan1 that this whole situation seems ridiculous.
I certainly see your point and it is a pretty good one. As I said in the other thread, giving my testimonial without a full and thorough review of the product was a bad idea. I thought so at the time, and I certainly think so now. Why did I do it? Well, I don't know. This is the point where my mother would say, "If all your friends jumped off a bridge, would YOU do it too?"
One or two people really seemed to think it was legit...and they gave a testimonial too although Clayton just didn't use it for whatever reason. So I did it.
At the time, the program seemed like the real deal to me, based on the limited pieces of it that I had seen. You have to admit, in the "Tour" section, there is an ass-load of information in his package. (huh huh, he said "package")
One of my friends here told me that he was already banking a pretty hefty amount of coin on just one of the 'preview' methods. I knew this method was a little stale but, hey, I figured there must be a great "twist" to it. There really wasn't, in the end, however. Still, remember, someone WAS banking pretty heftily on one of these methods. Is it a 'scam'? I still don't know for sure, but the warning seemed appropriate.
Luckily, we caught wind of all of thise before the release and before any of you spent your money.
As for the ban, I say let him come back in and dig himself out. He also needs to post in Buy, Sell, Trade....but REMEMBER, Clayton did not start that thread. He merely came in to defend it.
I am NOT defending Clayton's program in any way, I am simply pointing out the facts.
If it's a scam, we'll know soon enough.
