Should a Developer Buy a Macbook?

Hello, I usually develop web and desktop programs.
And the fan noise of the computer I have is extremely loud.

MacBook Pro 13.3 inc M2 8CPU 10GPU 16GB 256GB SSD​

I'm thinking of buying it, do you think I should?

Nah fan noise should not let you buy things.
Make 100x first of this macbook pro, if that in bank only then buy macbook pro or other stupid shits.
Hackintosh is better imo if you want to save a little!
 
Since i bought my first Macbook.. i never looked back.

My config:
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
Memory: 16 GB

its great for dev stuff, but 256GB storage is not enough
 
Again its about your pocket. And most importantly you should buy what you can afford!
 
If you have the money, absolutely yes. I have a m1 max macbook and this thing runs like an aeroplane. If you do not need that kind of power, may be stick to a m1/m2 mac mini, which is a great machine as well (i have the m1 version of it).

Boils down to do you prefer OSX or Windows (or linux). You can get 16gb+ memory, 256gb+ SSD / i7-i9+ on any business grade workstation laptop. Generally cheaper too.
Apple does good job convincing people their product is superior and catered to creative types. Imo 13.3" screen is tiny and 256gb is barely enough unless you keep a light file system.
If it's just desktop fan noise that's an issue, a case fan is around $15 and is replaced with minimal IT knowledge. Fans do not last forever and require basic maintenance -- lubrication and dust removal.
 
MacBook Pro is great for coding. I use it for gaming too lololol
 
I use a Dell XPS 15 with Windows/Linux. I code using Unbuntu and it's working great.

It really depends, you do not need a fancy computer depending in what you are working on, as long as you can get it done, most of the programmers will say that MAC is better because of the efficiency and speed working others say that windows is better because of the variety of tools that you can use either or both work fine as long as you can get your job done and also on wich one you prefer besides that also thing about maintenance in the feature will it be cheap, is easy to repair it, how much will cost, how much time will delay me to repair it and continue working? and if the fan of yor computer is loud you might be having problems cooling the PC and that is why the fan is working overtime to cool your PC,if it is the CPU I recommend you to do the proper maintenance and you did it then replace the cooler not for liquid for someting cheaper for those air coolers that look like tower I got one and my PC and temp changed from always 45 degres not doing nothing to 35 degress not doing nothing is a big change, so the real poblem is that your computer might be overheating, or change the fan for a noctua they are really quiet fans.

pretty much this.

Mac silicon processors are something else.

Highly recommend to switch to Mac if you are a developer and you like unix but hate how rough around edges and unfinished ubuntu and other linux distros feels.
