I am posting some shorts and sometimes they get 1k views and sometimes 50 views only and they stop. Today I got only 4

What could I be doing wrong

Please make it regular and consistent like if you upload 5-10 videos daily keep posting same on exact same time. Good luck

I am doing 1 short a day and sometimes they get 200-300, sometimes 1000 but recently they started having 50 and today i got only 4

Does the time I post it matters, does it needs to have keywords or what

1. Don't focus on seo
2. When reusing a video, do enough editing. (More than 50% magnification. Speed up or slow down. Split pixels)
3. Do not use all the length of the reused video, shorten it to 5 seconds for a 10-second video.
This is all about exposure in the YouTube Shorts feed.

To increase views, aim for viewers to watch at least 150% of your video. Also get lots of likes and comments.

Or you can do a mix of 2 short videos in a single video and post it.
It's all about being creative and you can use catchy titles so the viewers won't stop watching until the end.

Are you sure the shorts are good?
I have experimented with shorts on my channel, and I get more views on a regular video than a short. I know this isn't the same for everyone, but it all depends on your content.
There is also some luck involved so just consistently upload good shorts and you may start to receive the views you are hoping for.
If a short performs really well, YouTube may start putting your other shorts in the algorithm more but if these videos don't perform well (usually because of a bad video), it could negatively affect how much YouTube shows your other shorts to others.
Good luck.

How do you watch 150% of a video or is that a typo?

Entertaining your viewers is perhaps the main way towards attracting viewership in shorts. Creators who show something funny, interesting or action-packed in the initial 3 seconds, get a higher chance of viewers sticking around for the next 30 seconds.
Often, shorts videos with high number of views are "revealing" something unexpected or shocking or unexpected (ofcourse within YouTube's content guidelines).
Also, it is not a bad idea to add some emotion to shorts video content. With "emotional" videos, I have seen viewers leaving comments & perhaps such videos are more shared with family & friends.
You can also https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6390658?hl=e related to your video and this helps people towards reaching your video when they do an appropriate search.

Try to post in different times, timing changes everything. Also maybe posting too much is not good, post less than before and see the difference
