[shortcode] in Excerpt

Anyone know how to stop the shortcode from displaying in the post excerpts on the front page of WP blog? Using a Heatmappro v5 theme.

Example, there is lots of text, however WP chooses to show the shortcode vs the text in the excerpt, and the shortcode is way below the text in the post.

Anyone have experience with this? I been looking for a fix for a looooooong time now.

Ok, while I didn't necessarily find a technical solution to this, I ended up just deleting the post all together, but I copied all the HTML before doing so. Then deleted original post from trash, created a new post, pasted the html back in, and reused the URL, no biggie. All my BLs still point to that URL.

Wish I just did that in the beginning instead of trying to be mr. technical.
