Just thought I would post this guide on a few ways I'm planning to building my IM empire. For most this will not help you at all but for some this could be a grate way to get your foot in the door.*Note* , I'm not a pro at IM, this guide is just a work in progress , feel free to correcte any mistakes in this thread.
Freelancing
The first way I'm working on building my empire is doing freelancing. By joining sites like odesk and vworkers anyone could build a substantial income from just doing a few gig's a week. A few things I've found is that its become increasingly hard to manage all my sites and frustrating trying to keep track of the things I really need to get done. One thing I would suggest is to use softwares like toodledo to keep organized and keepass for password management. With just these two open source software you can manage your freelancing gig's with ease.
List of Freelancing sites:
eLance
GetACoder
Freelancer
odesk
vworkers
Open source software:
Toodledo
Keepass
Search Engine Marketing
The second way I'm planning on supplementing my income is buy doing some search engine marketing. This is arguably the fastest way to build a bank roll for many IM'ers. *Disclaimer* , Do not get into this market with out doing some research for yourself. This is a very competitive field so be cautious. Just in case, for those of you who are not too familiar with SEM ...... What am I saying everyone is familiar with SEM. A few tips ill give you is to use a script like prosper202 to manage your campaigns. Between Bing, Google and facebook it's all most impossible to manage all those ads with out it, plus get a good VPS to handle all of the traffic.
Open source script:
Prosper202
List of good Platforms:
Google adwords
Media.net
Facebook.com
Hope this helps.
