I just started to make a shopify store.. do you guys think this is profitable? I want to dedicate all of my spare time to something so I can have in the future an online source of income to replace my job.

I am willing to invest my time and money in the long run.. Im just not sure if shopify is a good option..

Also I was thinking of dropshipping all of my items from alliexpress.. would that be a good idea?

Any tips would help me out.

Thanks

Yes it’s profitable . But of course you will need some trial and error . Drop shipping is the easiest to get started for ecommerce as you won’t have inventory

But the Facebook Ads with aliexpress requires some investment as you might not find straight a winning product from the beginning.

Trial and error . But some good journey and tutorials in the forum. Have a look

Good luck mate

Depends on what you're selling, remember the Shopify monthly fee needs to be taken into consideration. Low margin products mean you'd need to sell a lot to cover Shopify and advertising costs

Be aware, it coud possibly take years of trial and error to make this work. We would all love to be one of these stories that someone starts a store,
and a month later they are making $50k a month.

well im willing to learn.. are there any other ways you guys would make money online? I see in the making money section and journeys section but there are SOOO many posts its hard to decide which ones are the winners and the ones that dont work.

Almost everything is profitable as long as you can bring traffic. Perhaps try to learn some SEO and ways to advertise your websites first, that's more important IMO. And it can also be useful in other future endeavors of yours.

Dropshipping may be the easiest, but also the most dangerous. Almost 95% of dropshipping websites close down within the first six months.

If your planning to go down this route I'd recommend to ship the products to your house, and ship from there. Not only will this reduce shipping times (making your customers happier), but also drive more motivation.

Unless you really know what you're doing and have a long past experience with FB Ads, I'd stay away from dropshipping.

Shopify stores are definitely profitable if you have the patience and a decent budget.

The major difference I've seen across high earnings stores and those that close without making a profit is the quality of the products and the shipping times.

Look at this way, would you be willing to spend $40 on a product and wait for it for 14-30 days, without proper tracking? And when it arrives, it is shabbily packed and not that great of a quality? I wouldn't.

If you can keep inventory and check the products' quality before selling them, you can attract a lot more interest from your visitors.

Having said that, if you have a winning product, a product that is high in demand and provides so much value to the customer that they don't mind waiting for it, you've hit gold! You don't need to keep inventory so you've already freed up lots of budget for the Facebook ads.

The second major hurdle would be your marketing plan. If you're planning to go with Facebook ads, you need to have a decent amount of budget set aside for testing your ads. You'll need to test a few ad sets to see what is converting well.

You also need to understand your audience before you spend thousands of dollars on your marketing campaign. There's no better way to burn your money than advertising your product to people who don't care about it.

You also need to make sure that your store looks and feel authoritative. Having a fly-by-night store will not convert as good as a store that looks and feels premium. It should make the checkout process a breeze and the product page (assuming you are sending your traffic to the product page and not the homepage) needs to be properly optimized to capture as many leads as possible.
