Shopify vs WooCommerce – Which is the Better Platform?

Hello everyone,
Before you give me your opinion about which one is the best, I want to know why building your own website and not working on a platform like eBay/ Amazon.....

I have the feeling that having your own website is better, it gives you flexibility and freedom to do whatever. you want I'm not sure if you can avoid all kinds of restrictions like copyright and trademark.... but I'm sure you be freer than working on a platform (please give me more clarifications about this point.)

retuning to the main question: Shopify or Woocommerce? In my eyes, I would choose Woocommerce I don't know why but I feel it's the best, I can customize it as I want, Also I can say that Woocommerce is more powerful in SEO than Shopify....... BUT what makes me doubt is when I see a lot of dropshippers go with Shopify even those who are masters and they made a lot of money. there is something I don't know about Shopify? thank you

I tried eBay dropshipping back in 2016 and I made good money however I was limited to specific categories for the products I can list, for example, you cannot sell digital products on eBay, and once you do that it becomes a matter of time before you get banned, on the other side if you have your own website only the sky is the limit for the items that you can sell, back to your original question I personally prefer woocommerce because it's more customizable, I think that more dropshippers go for shopify because they find it easier to use.

I have used both for a very long time, I am def going with Woocommerce if you are a bit technical.

Shopify is for entrepreneurs who want things that just works, it is actually quite expensive considering that you might need more than 1 store to start making money.

I never heard of woocommerce, i should give it a go, i'm not a big fan of shoppify either.
 
I personally prefer Woocommerce since it is more customizable and cheaper if you have multiple stores.
 
Woocommerce is best choice. because it is cost effective and have advanced features.
 
Shopify anyday for its ease and many payment processor integration. Stripe / shopify payments are native and they offer much more. Plus load of impressive themes
 
I prefer shopify, it's really easy, too much addons easy for dropshipping

I prefer Shopify.​

Shopify and WooCommerce are both powerful platforms to start your eCommerce store. It truly comes down to your personal skills and preferences. shopify is a lot easier to use. It doesn’t require you to install anything, and you can get started quickly. Setting up payments is easier, and they have easy-to-understand pricing plans.
I think Shopify is best for a dropshipping business.

Shopify is simply better, easier to use, and good for stores that are scaling.
Woocommerce is free (technically) but you still have to pay for wordpress hosting. And you got to make sure your wp is optimized for ecommerce.
Idk shopify really seems more reliable to me in the long run.
