Hello Guys
I'm planning on starting a shopify journey soon. I will start collage with a part time job and i will probably need money. I will work hard to try and achive something. Anyway i want to try shopify dropshipping. I'm pretty new to this. I tried in the past to create a shopify store at least to get familiar with the site and all. My question is: should i target only my country ? I' m not that familiar with seo, google ranking, etc so i think selling worldwide is wrong if i don't know what i'm doing. While selling in my country is easier imo. I don't want to get rich over night. I want to build a good site with decent products. I live in an eastern european country.

If you'll need money for college shopify could be a big hole in your wallet, I'd go for wordpress and woocommerce with some cheap server and template to test the water.

As per targeting the general idea is to focus on 1st tier countries although it might work targeting your local country as well since you mentioned you live on east europe and those countries usually have less competition - and customers as well -

Ye that what I was thinking start small and learn properly. I forgot to mention. I already have a .com domain. I have a 150 Instagram FL page. I can grow this manually. Follow unfollow. I studied shopify a bit to see how it works. I wanted to target something like a beauty niche. Skin care products and tools. Women and girls love shopping and will always spend money on this products.

In eastern Europe it is really hard to dropship, because most people know and frequently shop on aliexpress and if they see that the shipping times are pretty long, they say in the comments that it is overpriced, scam and it is easier to get direcly from ali.

I understand I was talking with a friend and he said the same thing. But a lot ppl from what I check Don t know about aliexpress. Also I saw some products are shipped from countries like Spain Poland. Wouldn t that reduce the shipping times?

Yeah, some are shipping from Europe. The shipping times are faster of course. There is less selection and the prices are higher, but if there are competitors for the product that ship from China and people are used to that, you could try to market with the fact that you are shipping from Europe and the customer will receive the goods faster.

If what you are dropshipping works in your country.....not bad to start small

Sorry to say this, in this current pandemic period, it is NOT as easy as previously. Logistic/Shipping very likely delay. Even for POD.

Join / start at the wrong time...lol

You have certainly never tried dropshipping....

There is always challenges wherever and whenever but all you need to do is handle it:cool:

If you know the market in your country and you know about the competition, go for it. Do you mind sharing what country you are talking about?

Yeah, I'd like to know what country too :)

I don't think you should limit yourself to one country though, unless you KNOW what they want.

Hello guys. Sure no problem the country i'm from it's Romania. It's a very strange country if you ask me. It's a poor country yet you will always find ppl that have money here. A lot of money.
I am afraid to target more countries or even worldwide because i know there is a lot of competition and some people are way more experienced than me. I belive dropshipping is also (not saying saturated) but kinda. I know my limits and i know i have a lot to learn. There are people experienced in SEO, programming, marketing, coding, etc while i don't know jack shit about some of this. I think for me it's better if i start small. I don't even care if i make 100 $ month. That would be amazing. If i can even cover the shopify costs and all of that it's still pretty good. I'm not planning to go 10k a month because i know it's impossibile for me to do that right now. I don't have the skills to do that.
Do you guys think i should try to target better countries in europe ?

I think the problem you have is the fact that you are limiting yourself and also underestimating it. Not knowing Seo, programming, coding doesn't mean anything but of course you will have to learn marketing and by marketing, I mean how you are going to present the images and the videos to market that product.
Since in Romania, it's cheap to advertise, but I will advise you when you choose the product etc. You can take a $5 budget per day to spend it and see if you are going to get some type of sell you are going to get. To help you choose what product to promote maybe you can sign up for Anstrex dropshipping beta version ( it's free for now) and see what products you can promote in Romania.

Ceau, ce faci? :)

I miss Romania

How about testing some of the products that you want to dropship on olx.ro ? :)

You won’t even need to worry about driving traffic there. Just upload some nice pictures, and write a nice description in romanian, and you can test if people want what you are offering :)

You can also do the classic Shopify, but aren’t Romanians very demanding? (I don’t mean it in a bad way! They like getting their money’s worth!)

(I mean, shipping time from Aliexpress isn’t always the best depending on sellers and carriers)

Oh good amazing i didn't even think about the olx stuff. That's such a grea ideea. I can see if they are interested in my products. And yes Romanians are very demanding. They think everyone tries to rob them and will try to get the best products at the best price. :)

I don't know if I want to promote 1 product or maybe it' s better to go with a niche like car's products (just an idea )

Cars products always sell, but as I said, they depend on how you market it, and that goes for any product. Another tip that may help you is let's say for example you have found the product you want to promote you have to check for how much your competitors sell it and what you have to do is either lower your prices or give a small gift that comes with a product to the buyers.
