Shopify payment plan issues

Hello,

I'm a 20 year old student wanting to have some experience with dropshipping using Shopify.
The plans on Shopify require a credit card to pay for but it's something I don't yet have. Does anyone know an alternative? I have everything else setup (PP Business, bank accounts etc..) it's just that I am a student and chances are I won't be accepted for a credit card because I have no job.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I've looked up for some VCC's but apparently people get banned paying with a VCC.

You can signup for a 14 day trial without credit card.

Other than that, you can apply for a Payoneer card. It will cost some money of course, you can find their fees in their FAQ.

Hey, thanks for your reply, I've already signed up for the trial but it has limitations like the fact that people can't checkout. I would love to use Payoneer but I'm afraid I would get banned since it's a VCC.

EDIT: Thanks again, I've applied for a Payoneer Master Card, and my application is being reviewed atm.

Idk for this website but most likely a debit card can work. You can buy even a virtual one for s low price if you need it for verification or for payment. If the site sends payout to a card a prepaid/debit card should still work and you can get them in almost any bank.

At first Payoneer isn't a VCC as far as I know, but it is some strange card as well (not like a ragular bank card and is issued in a rare country).

Right. The Payoneer card is not a VCC, it's a regular prepaid MasterCard issued by Choice Bank Limited based in Belize. Offshore paradise.

Although Payoneer offers a virtual banking service called US Payment Service, which is a VBA, but the card is not a VCC, it exists physically. You can have just the card without the VBA.

Some merchants do instantly decline cards issued in alike countries by the way.

It can be, i can't really confirm that.

I use Payoneer since 2008 and if i can remember well, there was only one time i wasn't able to use my card and it was ironically on a quite dodgy-looking Russian site, maybe it was for the best. Payoneer is widely accepted, where you can pay with MasterCard and prepaid cards are accepted, you can pay with Payoneer, at least that's my experience, especially when you use the card as a funding source via PayPal. It really is just like my other MasterCard which was issued in my home country in EU. I guess there are merchants who decline it, but i think it's mostly because it's a prepaid card and not because the issuing country. It's a MasterCard, fully backed by MasterCard, i fail to see the risk for any merchant.

On the other hand, the card is not too safe when it comes to offline usage. Not safe for the user, not for the merchants. It doesn't contain a chip, most of the time you don't need to enter the PIN code at the POS terminal, it only requires signature. If it's lost or stolen, anyone can use it for purchases and you're non the wiser until you check your balance, because there's no option for getting SMS of the usage.

Hello guys, this is an update to the situation:
Do NOT order a Payoneer card to use it on Shopify because it simply doesn't work. You will get some error message about your card not being verified. I contacted Shopify support and they told me some debit cards are restricted. You simply NEED a credit card to pay for a plan, kinda stupid but whatever.

I guess I'll have to find a god damn job before I can pay some website a monthly plan.... 10/10
