Yes and you are tapping into existing traffic, shopify you have to start from scratch while paying their fees

Start with eBay to see if your product is selling well and you have traffic, and then move on to Shopify. But then, you'll have to invest much time/money on promotion and ads, because you'll be on your own.

eBay much easier to obtain traffic

Regards

Ebay is a platform that already have customers traffic. Shopify is something you have to drive in traffic.
You can start with eBay to test your product sales and jump on to shopify when your test is positive.
For eBay there is no much cost involved but for shopify you have minimal investment which is your asset for long term growth.

Hi. Ebay gives you millions of potential customers. With shopify you will need to somehow get customers by yourself.

If you're good in marketing and you know how to get traffic - then Shopify is good option.

If no - then Ebay much better.

all day for shopify. But to kick start and test ebay is good too

I think it depends on your products, personally to me, shopify has been turned into an eco-system of plugin mongrels and dropshipping gurus, hence for refreshments I suggest go with ebay or may be Amazon FBA.

How do you gain more exposure for your products when selling on Ebay? I tried listing some products, but its not getting much views.

Check your comps, copy their keywords/titles. Go through and update 10% of your listings every day. Try working promoted listings into your budget for each item. Make sure to take quality pictures, even light, no background items, try a solid background. Can also try driving traffic from outside eBay by sharing listings on other sites.

eBay has the biggest traffic for sure with ready made market, just put your product there & you're good to go, but shopify from the other hand can be scaled much more easier than eBay with dropshipping but it will need hell lots of work to market your shop.
