Shopify developer store - advice needed

Those who managed to create these development sites en-masse before the promo ended can still do it.. I had a feeling that they are closing this offer and created 1000's of them and I can use them since most of them are 2-3 years old.. Any new ones you create will get password protected and you can't take that off until you give over the site/select the monthly plan.

I found on youtube that it's possible to open a Shopify store and to have 50 sales without choosing a plan. That would be awesome for my plan as I am not sure I will have many sales at the beginning.

I've created a partner account and Shopify store, but the store is password protected...
I will delete/archive that store and create a new one.

Any advice on this one?
