I have bought several FB pages off the forum in the past and all have gone as they should - with the seller complying and a fair deal being done. But now I seem to have been involved in a scam case. I am the buyer and the seller is one of BHW forum member called "Fbseo".

The thread I originally started was in the WTB section.

He added me on Skype and offered 3 Facebook pages to buy, I agreed a fee on purchasing one of the pages. From there I made a transfer to a paypal account - which I was then made aware on skype that this was the wrong account that i'd transferred the funds to. The transaction was then refunded to my account and I was then given another email address to make the payment to.

After the payment was made, I was made aware that I would be made an admin of the page (which I know is foolish, but on the other pages I have bought all has been done as promised) and as you can probably guess, this never happened.

I was then quick to dispute the transaction in PayPal (after Fbseo had disappeared off Skype), a few hours later they surprisingly came back on Skype and advised that they had a bad connection earlier on and they would not make me an admin of the page until I closed the dispute. I had now sussed that this was a scam and did not give into what they were asking for.

See below Skype messages they sent when they came back on:

[01/09/2013 23:04:01] Letizia: Hey sorry i got a lost connection i just runned in a computer shop altely now i'm home
[01/09/2013 23:04:04] Letizia: i alreadya dd you
[01/09/2013 23:04:11] Letizia: but you dispute me in paypal
[01/09/2013 23:04:17] Letizia: if want i'll refund this
[01/09/2013 23:04:28] Letizia: just telling you i'm not the eprson you think of
[01/09/2013 23:05] Letizia: want me to do a full refund?
[01/09/2013 23:05] Letizia: already sold the 400k page what are you thinking scamming you $$$$ is nothing i can make in in 2 days so why should i scam you
[01/09/2013 23:06] Letizia: i remove you admin coz you dispute me
[01/09/2013 23:06] Letizia: if you want we can settle this...
[01/09/2013 23:17] Letizia: hello are you there?
[01/09/2013 23:24] Letizia: i will wait for you lets settle this just pm me i'll do full refund i don't want to be telled by someone that i scam 3 years in service and not a single complaint from other costumer so will wait for you....

I did then ask the question of them to post me a screenshot of the admin screen of the page in FB - which looking back on I should have asked for in the first instance along with asking them to make me an insights admin etc (where I had not enough authority to remove them yet for proof they owned it)

and look what they sent me on Skype (it did make me laugh, but it was too late)

After advising that they would give me a full refund, they were quick to disappear once again and much to my dismay PayPal closed the dispute this morning:

We've denied your claim because you purchased a virtual, digital orintangible item, which isn't covered by our Buyer Protection. We only cover
claims involving physical items that can be sent by post and tracked.

We encourage you to work directly with the seller to resolve the problem.
You'll find their contact details on the Transaction Details page.

So as of yet nothing has happened with this account other than i'm quite a bit of money down, I have contacted my bank regarding a chargeback - so hoping that this will help as PayPal have been no help whatsoever! Its so frustrating how PayPal really don't offer any support to the situation at all.

Hope all newbies learn from my stupidity and read this carefully.

Thanks,
