Shit List & permanently ban user "EyeSight".

I checked the rules in the sticky before posting.

I posted a WTB in the BST section of the forum on 02/10/2012 for 5,000 Gmail Accounts.

User "EyeSight" contacted me via PM and offered 5,000 accounts for $150. I contacted them via Skype, as requested, we discussed the price.

As I had been contacting so many people about these Gmail accounts, I lost track of who had quoted me what.

When I did contact them on Skype, the price had gone up from $150 for 5,000 accounts ($30 per thousand) to $140 for 2,000 acccounts ($70 per thousand.) I agreed to pay as even $70 per thousand was acceptable. Still, a price increase of 140% in a couple of days should be a warning. Like I said, I was contacting about 15 people regarding accounts.

They told me to pay via Paypal. I did, immediately. They said that the delivery of accounts would be in .RAR format and password protected.

They confirmed they received payment and sent me a .RAR file via Skype file transfer.

Immediately after, they went offline on Skype, have not been on since. They did not give me the password to the .RAR file at any point.

I have obviously tried to contact them via all means, to no avail. I gave them a 24+ hour warning, to explain their actions and they haven't and now I'm following up on my promise to report them to the Shit List, have them banned and file a dispute with Paypal (although seeing as it's Gmail accounts, I'm not sure there'll be a chance I can get it back.)

I've been a BHW member for over 3 years. Their account was created in Aug 2012.

Upon doing more research, they say they live permanently in Malaysia in their signature, yet the Skype account they contacted me through "eyesightBHW" is registered to Jill Smith in Washington, USA.

The Paypal address to which I sent payment "[email protected]" is a Non-Verified US account in the name of Jose Miranda.

They have a thread on BHW talking about falsifying documents with Paypal. They say they expect to have their account limited.

From doing more research on their post history on BHW and being a detective (which my Dad actually is IRL) I have found out they're a Filipino national living in Malaysia.

I can afford to lose the $140. I'm not raging about the money. The wasted time is worth much more than that to me and I'm very angry about that.

Obviously I wouldn't be posting without first having collected all the evidence. Here it is:

9. LASTLY and this really did make me LAUGH. They created a thread complaining about AdFoc.us scamming them out of $17. Yes, $17!?

The alarm bells should have been ringing the second I paid and they immediately went offline. I've had this happen before and that's normally a sure sign they're planning on scamming you or it's already happened and they have scammed you.

Initially I just thought they were withhholding the password so they could wait for the Paypal funds to clear, but when I checked their BHW post history and played detective all the information I found pointed towards a scammer.

I present all the evidence and request that BHW tells other people about this person and bans them from the forums for good.

I can take $140 hit.

I just want others to be aware.

Also annoying pieces of *expletive* like this denigrate the overall quality of your WTB sections.

As a result of this I will never be using BHW to buy and product from any user, ever again. I don't care so much about the money, like I said, it's the time. This person has caused me such a waste of time and lots of trouble for themself. What a f*cking twat.

Oh and if anyone can give me some advice about how to go about the Paypal dispute (as it's Gmail accounts), I'd be very grateful.

Could I forward them this evidence when I attach files for the dispute? Do the Skype conversations and BHW threads count as evidence?

Man I love the way your present your evidence. Awesome. I think you should be able to get your money back though since it is digital goods in a sense and the seller has no proof that he provided it to you. I could be wrong though.

Thanks! Yeah, it's an iffy one with Paypal as officially you're not allowed to buy and sell Gmail accounts. That's Gmails rules and Paypal have nothing to do with this, but lots of people accuse Paypal of telling both parties in a dispute that they weren't successful and keep the money themselves. This is the perfect opportunity.

Anyway, I wont have lost anything trying. So I'll go to them with any evidence and see what happens.

I might get lucky.

Anyway, like I said; with 5 years BHW experience I can take the $140 hit.

I just wish I could hit the scammers.

Really it's my own fault for not doing the investigating BEFORE.

Hey, we work in a black hat environment and we take gambles; sometimes they don't pay off.

I'm sure you've all had similar experiences. I wasn't diligent enough in checking this person out. I should have.

It'd be very hard for BHW to stop people. We are in the the realm of the proxy kings, after all!

Just be careful and if you see this d*ckhead around in another disguise on BHW report him and stop him. It's likely he has multiple accounts. That's normally the modus operandi of scammers like this.

Try going the "I didn't make that charge, so give me back my money" route with paypal. Best of luck to you and thanks for the detailed shit list thread. You most likely saved another hard earned dollar being taken from this douche. Anyways, they may go the "digital goods" route and you might not see anything back and if you sent as a "gift" then it's over. But honestly, I would just say you didn't do it, it won't hurt.

Yep. It's my fault. I concede this. Like I said, it was a gamble and I didn't do my research as well as I could have. Mainly as the majority people I've dealth with, in and outside of BHW, haven't scammed me and it hasn't happened for a while and I got relaxed about checking people.

So yeah, I've definitely got the kick I needed to check people out better.

I'll chalk it up to experience and $140 isn't going to bankrupt me!

I think that's a shame and IMO a mistake. There are alot of ppl out there that think that BHW is full of nothing but hackers and scam artists although we condone neither one. Yes, we know there are those that try to gain though the loss of even other members and when that happens, we either get the other person to respond or take measures such as banning them. But to assume that everyone on here isn't worth trusting and therefore not buying from BHW again?

Landofsmiles - you have to look at what you're buying and measure it against the risk. Your seller joined just 2 months ago with ZERO iTrader and very few posts. I would maybe buy a Fiverr from someone in that situationi but would buy something worth $500 from Wpbacklinks above (if I had the disposable income and he was offering something I needed). There is a huge difference in INVESTMENT and account value. I suggest you look at that next time and before you decide to purchase something or not. In the end though, it's your decision.

Hope you get your money back from Paypal... If I were you I would say that you paid for a service that he agreed to provide and he failed to deliver on the service. Good luck!

*Edit* Now if it was Proxygo that was offering it - I would trust him with even higher amounts... again, look at the investment into their account, into this community and you'll be able to figure out who you can trust. It's not totallly infallable - some people do lose their minds and do some pretty stupid stuff... but it works most of the time. (and I'm not saying that all new people aren't trustworthy... but we have no way to distinguish the ones that are from the ones that aren't).

You're quite right. I didn't do my due diligence like I should have. I haven't been scammed in ages. I let my guard down.

The only place I've ever been scammed in on forum BST sections. Nowhere else.

I'm not throwing a tantrum and saying "Never dealing with BHW again!" The support here shows the people are nice and the community is compassionate. I knew this already after 3 years.

Mainly my post is here to get the user banned and act as a warning.

Also, this is his second account and second time he has scammed on BHW. I accept it's impossible to block all IPs and permanently delete all scammers. However, they will keep trying to get back in and scam. Which will impact the BST section.

Anyway, I can genuinely take on the $140 loss. It's nothing.

What I can't do, and why I won't be purchasing (I'll still use BHW for other reasons) is waste my time. I can't get back this wasted time and that (potentially) is worth more money to me, but obviously I can't quantify that.

It's an annoyance at best which I'm sure everyone here has felt after getting scammed. Some of the annoyance is at myself for not doing all the investigating on the user before.

If I had put his Paypal address "terds001(at)yahoo" in BHW advanced search I'd have seen this old account was banned and stayed well away. I didn't.

In my defence, I was speaking to about 15 different people at a time.

I'm going to be much more diligent in the future.
