i currently have a couple of items of some value on ebay, What is the best way to be able to bid on them myself to kinda drive up the price just a bit, i know i have to watch out that i myself don't end up winning the damn auction.

Input greatly appreciated
Thanks

Be careful doing this a guy in the UK got caught before and got banned and 5 years jail time. Its classed as fraud so make sure you use a different I.P address for the other account.

"Shilling is illegal in many circumstances and in many jurisdictions, because of the frequently fraudulent and damaging character of the shill's actions. However, if a shill does not place uninformed parties at a risk of loss, but merely generates "buzz", the shill's actions may be legal."

Found this on wiki under "shill" (can't post links yet)

I couldn't find what he was talking about though.

Years ago when I was new to ebay I did this and got busted. Ebay sent me a warning and I had to fill out all this online stuff on shill bidding. Now I could care less if my stuff sells for too low, it happens once in a while and isn't worth dealing with. The 5 years I find hard to believe, would have to see a link to verify that one.

thanks for all the info guy, i had listed a quad gfx card and a retail version of server 2003 both were at low bids with no reserve but at the last min they went up ALOT. Sold the graphics card for 159.00 and the server 2003 for 380.00
