SHARING: I Lost 120 Pounds!

impressive progress.
i am working hard in the gym to gain more weight..

that is really great kabayan! I will start exercising now!

Congrats on the achievement :), I know how fulfilling it is to work your way towards being fit.

I myself was never fat but due to spending 10+ hours at the computer 6 days weekly, it got me quite unfit. I started going to the gym, to lose some extra flab and slowly gained some muscles in the process.. Recently started with Whey, casein & aminos. Working out definitely is a stress buster makes us feel better...

Congratulations man! I always have a lot of respect for big guys and girls that get stuck in at the gym and make a change.

I needed to lose a couple of stone last year and I think the best change I made was ditching the fizzy stuff for fruit squash, as you said you did above.

Yes, just water. I gave up soda and fruit juices. I do drink about 2-3 cans of Dole Pineapple Juice with Reducol a week because it supposedly reduces cholesterol. When I was first starting, I was drinking a can a day but decided to cut back when I got thinner.

Oh, and I'm a Starbucks regular. But I stick to a tall hot latte with non-fat milk and no sugar (100 calories) or just plain hot China Green Tips tea. If it's hot outside, I make it over ice, still non-fat and unsweetened.

Ya I've just started on a just drinking water and eating veggies, egg whites and chicken diet myself.

Haha! Let it be a reminder of how big I used to be, together with my loose skin and stretch marks.

Will your loose skin and stretch marks go away? Exercise don't help it?

I've rad that having plenty of proteins makes you lose weight fast,is it true?

WoW Amazing, probably not the Best Forum for something like this, but this is simply amazing. Congrats!

Haha! Thanks man!

Wow. That's a good problem to have. Haha! Good luck!

Thanks kabayan! Yes, start NOW, not tomorrow!

I thought you lost €120? Whichever, it's all valuable!

Haha! I guess I could have worded the title better.

Thanks man! Yes, working in front of the computer all day can really make us unfit. I feel stronger and healthier since I started working out. I rarely get sick.

I just bought a 2lb tub of NitroTech whey protein. I drink it after working out and as a dinner replacement along with a hard boiled egg or boiled sweet potatoes.

Yup, even the 100% fruit varieties. They're just sugar water. Just stick to water. I did try putting some lemon in my water. Meh.

I don't think they'll go away. Research tells me that only surgery can fully remove it. I'm sure exercising can help lessen their appearance, but they can't be removed fully unless you're really lucky to have really elastic skin.

On your diet, just make sure to inject some variety so that you don't get tired. I eat a lot of canned tuna. I know they're processed, but they're very convenient. Haha!

I'm not an expert, but I don't think so. You need diet and exercise. Protein complements exercising and lifting weights. You could lower your carb intake in favor of protein though and that can help. It's just that eating lots of protein alone won't help you lose weight fast.

Congratulations Marcus! Always nice hearing people losing that amount of weight. That's crazy haha

Congrats brother, most people don't seem to understand it has to be a permanent lifestyle change and not a temporary diet..... otherwise when stop "dieting" and return to eating how you previously did you will end up back at square one.

It's awesome to hear you didn't ignore an early warning sign and used it as motivation to change before it was too late. You should do some reading on Intermittent Fasting (IF), high protein, low carb (lots of vegetables, little bit of fruit, minimal grain), PRIMAL/PALEO eating. It's easy to pack on a lot of muscle, lean out, and never feel better following this plan.

Best of luck in the future and keep us updated on your progress.

I knew your username meant something :D

Congrats mate. It will be easier now to maintain the current weight.

Congrats. I lost 30 pounds since I met my girlfriend.. :sigh1:

Well done mate, losing weight can be a hard task simply because it's so hard to 'see' it happening.

Props for sticking to your guns and seeing it through! :D

congratulation bro :)

Thanks!

Haha! When I look at the mirror, I still can't believe I did it. It is crazy.

I agree! When they ask me how I did it, that's the first thing I say - lifestyle change. I did a lot of temporary diets before. I tried the GM diet before I got married and lost 40 pounds. Of course, it's not sustainable and gained it all back and more once I stopped. Now that it's a lifestyle change, I can't go through a day without doing a form of exercise. Also when I don't crave for unhealthy foods anymore.

I've read about IF. A friend of mine is doing it. I'm also very interested in Paleo. I'll probably do it once I hit 180 lbs as I don't want to mess up what's currently working for me.

My friend is also pushing me to do Freeletics. Maybe if I'm a bit more lighter.

Haha! Yeah, it's kinda literal. Haha!

You'll gain it all back once you get married to her! Haha! Just kidding. Good job!

This is why I focused on "bite-sized goals". Instead of me thinking that I need to lose 100+ lbs, I focused on losing 10 lbs at a time. This way, it's not too overwhelming.

This is a hard process for losing 120 pounds, just congratulations for you!

Congratulation, dude! You've done what most obese people just dream of. You're doing everything right. I'm no expert, but would suggest 2 things. One, go for a walk in the park in the early morning; 30 minutes will do. But, try to get out in the fresh air. It really helps! Another thing, try to substitute peanut butter with something else that you like, but with less calories.

But, good job and keep it up. :)

Congrat man, it's very hard to shift those weight, am classed as obese too:(. I used to be 17.5 stone, after few weight training and cutting my food intake, i lost 2 and half stone. I feel lighter and happy. I wish you all the happiness.
