So I have a couple of my affiliate sites within the same hosting package. I was thinking of adding them into my portfolio site, but don't know if it'd hurt me more than do good.

- Aff site 1
- Aff site 2
- Aff site 3
All above have shared hosting. I want all of those to have a footer link to Portfolio site.

Portfolio site is hosted separately. And no - I won't crosslink them.

It will not harm you at all, make sure you mark them nofollow. As Google generally do not allows users to add portfolio links in the footer of the websites. We use them to generate leads for the business nothing else. Do not consider it as another seo activity.

I'm siting on a lot of websites and it's very tempting to start linking between them, or all to one.

But I end up not doing it.

Google is too ruthless and you never know what they do. I've read too many stories about people getting their sites slaughtered by Google. I've heard about people getting all their sites hit at the same time (black and white hat ones), with the only connection that they were in the same Webmaster and Analytics account. Some on the same hosting.

Since I work with this full-time, I treat them all as their own entity and separate them from each other as much as possible.

Are the potential results worth the risk, Alfons?

I have 4 affiliate websites two of them is on the same hosting account plus all of them is hosted by namecheap. They are all interlink with each other. So far I did not see any sort of penalty.

So why not go for it. It's not like you interlink more than 20 websites.
