Share your tips for UpWork or Fiverr

For any online freelancing works... portfolio is the most important thing, build that up, if you are not already have good portfolio, do some personal or pro-bono works that can be showcased. Next is your proposal, always try to personalize your cover letter, show that you understand the client problem and tell them your plan to solve it. Only show relevant portfolio here, 3-5 links are enough. Never copy paste generic proposal.

The best tip I can share with you, as somebody who sells services on Fiverr, is to do such an amazing job that your customer will refer you.

This is harder than you think.

Fiverr has found a way to screw service providers over through their confidential feedback system.

You have to understand that there are a lot of clients who will praise you to your face.

They will say that you're the second coming of Leonardo da Vinci.

They'll kiss your ass because they don't want to burn any bridges.

They know that you produce work at a certain price, and they want to be able to walk through that door if they need to at some point in the future.

But in the back of their minds, they're not completely happy.

In many cases, they can't even quite articulate why they are less than fully satisfied.

So what does Fiverr do?

It exploits this misgiving by giving clients a backdoor way of leaving bad reviews.

Those bad reviews may not be public, but they hurt you anyway because the internal algorithm of Fiverr will factor in these secret reviews and downgrade your visibility.

That's the bottom line.

So how do you get around this?

I'm sorry to be the one to report this, but you need to do the work and you need to satisfy your customer.

It's not just a question of following the instructions.

Anybody can do that.

Anybody with basic English reading and comprehension skills can pull that off.

That's not the issue.

The issue is whether you deliver the experience your customers are expecting when they come to you.

If you're able to do that, they are more likely to not fuck you up with those secret reviews, but just as importantly, spread the good word about you.

Does this happen overnight?

Of course not!

As we all know, bad news travels much faster than good news.

But if you keep this up and it's a reflection of your character as a service provider, things will eventually come to a head.

Your brand on Fiverr at least will achieve some sort of positive momentum.

Hang in there.

I also work on Upwork and I started from scratch with zero reviews and in just 2 months i earned 1000$ from Upwork your work quality will lead you to success.

Does anyone promote their fiverr account outside of fiverr? If so, how do you do it?

Do not buy fiverr account, they are very strict about this.

I wanted to start to work in Fiverr but here guys from BHW said that buying some reviews is essential, as for the start i have to look legit before people ordering from me.
When I started working on Fiverr i emailed around 5K people before getting my first customer and It was a very time consuming process.
