I'm a newbie here atm, but I hope this will be of use and interest to some of you

There is a site which I have been watching, because its a competitor for me, and it has remained in exactly the same SERP over the last 3 months, so i can assume it is not badly affected by the recent updates at G.

If you search for the keyword phrase "how to wakeboard" it will be on the first page, right now its at 7 on google uk. the site is named wakeboardbum %dot% com$

I'm sure that all of the backlinks must have been done in a blackhat manner, because this site is rubbish. its badly written, seems like its written for search engines not people, has no pictures or videos. I am a wakeboarder and there is no way anyone would post a link to this as a guide to learning wakeboarding. there are far better sites out there. its MFA

I dont have the paid for tools to analyze this properly, or the knowledge. But I thought i could share this with the forum and we could have a thread about what its doing right. It seems to outrank some older and better quality websites on this keyword

The site have just collection of articles which is unique, the keyword has monthly search below 2000 so they would have ranked in first page.
Regarding their backlink strategy they would have used blackhat.
