Hi everyone, I’m running an affiliate offer and using a squeeze page to collect leads before directing them to the product's landing page. Since my primary goal is to capture leads, I’m not optimizing for standard events like Purchase or Add to Cart.

Instead, I’m focused on actions within the squeeze page. For example:
  • Form submissions
  • Button clicks leading to the offer page

What events or custom conversions should I set up on the pixel for this kind of setup?

Thanks a lot in advance!

With the goal of generating leads through a landing page and not optimising for events such as "Purchase" or "Add to cart", you can set up custom events on your Pixel to optimise for the actions that customers take on the squeeze page.

and you should combine the ViewContent,Click,CompleteRegistration, InitiateCheckout events to make them consistent with each other.

If all of this doesn't work, it's probably because of the pixel, or your campaign has some kind of problem, and my clients are in the same situation a lot, so I advise them to change the pixel, or change the ad method. and it worked fine

You should use the "Lead" event for form submissions and set up a custom conversion for button clicks to track engagement before they hit the offer page!

Here is some ways i can suggest for you bro:
  1. Lead Event: Track form submissions as leads, which aligns with your primary goal of capturing user data.
  2. Button Clicks: Set up a custom event to track clicks on buttons directing users to the offer page. Use custom scripts or Facebook’s Event Setup Tool for this.
  3. Page Views: Track views of the squeeze page and the thank-you page after form submission to measure user flow.
  4. Custom Conversion: Create a custom conversion based on the URL of the thank-you page to measure successful form completions.

You should set up custom conversions for "Form Submission" and "CTA Click" to track the key actions on your squeeze page.

i advice you to try conversion api don't rely only on Fb pixel

Track Lead and Button Click with custom conversions! Just make sure to test different versions of your page and track what gets the best results!

It doesn't matter what event triggers a conversion, as long as you tell Facebook which tracked visitor converted, they'll be able to eventually optimize your ads to maximize desired actions at a certain daily budget.

Doesn’t matter what event triggers it, just let Facebook know who converted, and it'll optimize to crush your goals within your budget.

If you need personal data of your potential customers (Email, etc.), you can run ads on a lead form, if you have a site that already has a form for applications, then it is best to install a pixel on the button to submit this form, but be sure to put a filter against bots, and also that people specify only real data and this will be the best optimization for your advertising
