setting up a membership site

Hi Guys

I am looking for some recommendations of a good 'membership site' course

I want to set up a membership site in the dog niche and I would like to know what are the best course or courses out there that would take someone from A - Z on setting up, finding content and running this business model

unfortunaly I do believe that there is currently no course that will take you through a membership site creation. If you are looking for an easy to set up membership site I would take a look at using wordpress with a membership site plugin, or you can go with a membership site script and create your site based on that script. I am currently using a membership site script with a site I created my self. would like to post a link here but my account is limited if you would like the link please im me and I will send you a link to the script you can use.

Its documentation will have all you need to setup a membership site.

Courses dont get you anywhere.

As a forum owner, I can tell you that is it
mainly based on two entities;
attraction and retention.

Attraction can be done by offering
stellar content that people are looking for.

Do not post generic or "seo optimized" articles
just for the sake of posting cause you will
find it hard to retain members.

To keep retention high, try to offer roles
that make them feel like a family.

I could go on and on, but it is best
you learn it your way since having
a generic forum wont last well again,
in retention aspect.

Last but not least, good luck in
whatever you set your mind to do.

Is it a members area site or a forum you're looking to do?

I'm currently building a members area on one of my sites and am using Optimizepress 2. Its pretty straight forward and easy to do, I'm about half way through finished as still adding content.
 
Yes I would buy optimize press 2. They have tutorials on how to set it up.
 
I use WishList Member, full featured, powerful, not to steep a learning curve.

May I make a suggestion? If you are going to have the same thing inside your members area that is available elsewhere on the web, you are wasting your time.

There needs to be something special inside for it to be worth taking time to sign in for most members.

If you are new and want to start a membership site, I suggest you to use wordpress plugin for setting up a membership site.
Wordpress sites are easy to maintain.
