    Hi guys

I have a physical product I want to sell (actually multiple products), and I'm looking at ways of creating a referrals system to go with it. My questions are:

Can you recommend any specific ecommerce software that has a built in (or addon) referral system. Something along the lines of, you get your own link that you promote, then when someone comes in through it a cookie registers they came from your link, and you get a cut if they buy anything.

Also, do you think I should go to a CPA to promote it, or rather find someone here?

The product is unique, based in the 'art' category. The cut would start at 10% which is £30, for the cheapest product, probably going up to £250 for a more expensive one, and if all goes well it could be as much as £1k.

    PS preferably free ecommerce software

Seeing as no one has shown any interest in helping out, maybe it's just a plain bad idea.. I'd appreciate any comments etc

At the moment I've pretty much settled on installing Magento (ecommerce) with say google checkout and one of the free affiliate addons

Do you think this will work? The store will have original photo prints by two photographers (and this is the only place you can get them)

I don't see why the Magento wouldn't work. Also, OScommerce has addons you could look into.

Google checkout is good once the limit is pulled (time restrictions).

Affiliate systems and art though, I am not sure if they will fly.

Affiliate marketing systems work best in my opinion with psychological triggered sales ( lose weight, stop being poor, bulk up etc).

I think affiliate systems will still work if you find the right people to sell your stuff.

Your best bet is doing keyword research and doing some SEO for some light competition keywords.

If you need any help with this shoot me a pm and we can work something out.

    I am wondering something similar.

I run a web hosting business and want to increase my client base. I have a affiliate system which offers a generous recurring payment of £22.50 per client.

Can anyone suggest a good CPA network or affiliate network? I was going to sign up to click bank but am not sure if it is worth it....

Thanks for the response, I also just realised I meant CPS not CPA..

And as I'll be having the store anyway I thought why not try getting some more buyers..
I realise that psychological triggers would make a better product overall, but in my case it's quite a specific market, which could be interesting to some.. I'm fairly open to methods used for promotion, as long as I don't get any complaints......(or a tarnished image)

What you said about SEO, the thing is, those are very specific art prints, people have to see them to realise how amazing they are; once I set up, the main customer base will be people sent from the photographers websites as well as word of mouth. I don't have the time to put in myself to promote the page/increase the sales, that's why I'm thinking of CPS..

Are there any CPS programs you'd recommend? Or what's the best way of finding someone here who'd be interested in getting involved?

(ps could someone possibly change the title of the post to say CPS, thanks!)

Someone elsewhere suggested I use Commission Junction, any thoughts on this?
