I think determining what we're working towards is important. When setting affiliate marketing goals, it sounds a little weak to just say "to make 5 more sales this month"...

What are some of the affiliate goals you have set for yourself in the past? What type of goals motivate you the most to get off your ass and do some work.

Well I don't do a ton of affiliate stuff these days, but generally my goals are related to things that I can achieve in the next week or two. Things change so often and I have new ideas so often that I try to be flexible with my goals, and also realistic.

So I prefer to set goals that are actionable, and then sit back and see what the results are. Obviously I have ideas about how much money they could make, but it's very very hard to predict that kind of stuff. Often I've found success comes in a few home runs rather than a predictable line, especially in this business.

Don't focus on "I'm going to make 5 sales this month" focus instead on I am going to work on getting this amount of traffic, or I am going to write this many articles, because when you look at things like that, and focus on the traffic, then you can tweak your sites, and the sales will come.
