    Hey guys,

I'm at my wits trying to figure out how to serve scaled images. I have previously tried to solved the problems by using EWWW Image Optimizer without any success. I then deleted the big pictures and made them smaller but the same thing shows on GTMetrix. Then I went into my media gallery, selected scale image and put in the dimensions that GTMetrix asked for and I'm still getting the same error.

Is it because of having a responsive theme?

    Anyone having any solutions, please?

    Thanks :target:

your responsive theme should do it automatically, this could be what you are looking for. Click the demo and resize your screen to see it in action, it's free from wordpress.org.

No idea why my theme wasn't doing it. Thank you so much. Now my website is slower though...scratching my head at this site. Can't get it to load in 1 second.

By the sounds of it your images are not optimized and may be large file sizes, give this free plugin a go. it will optimize all your existing images and all future ones. I used it on my site which had over 600 images. If you have a lot of images, run it and go off and play with the kids, make a coffee or visit a spar until it finishes as it can take some time.

Yea I already have used that one. Going to have to use image zilla to just get everything even smaller. Thanks for all the help.

Wordpress also has built in Thumbnailing functionality.

You can have it so that all of your images create new thumbnails with a maximum of ___px (you could have something written up in functions.php).
The way the native Wordpress thumbnail functionality works is it will keep the full size image in your media library, which is useful.

This in my opinion is the cleanest way to deliver scaled images.

This plugin will help you quite a bit as well:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

You can choose new dimensions, not just the Small/Medium/Large that Wordpress gives you.

Sounds like these images are all personal and not web optimized try photoshop and re save them for web use.

Large images are to heavy for page rendering the images need to be croped and saved as a gif or png

Please use your own thoughts in posts instead of just copying and pasting in mine just to boost your count, if you have nothing worthwhile to say then just don't say anything.
