Services to build up a group user base?

I've been looking without success any kind of service (similar to ADF) that may facilitate the growth of a group user base.

Also I was thinking on mass inviting by email from similar groups but not sure if this is still viable (and if there are any tools to accomplish this type of scrap)

I'm looking for something the most automated possible, no outreach in any sense involved (in case it exists)
