What kind of offline marketing services can you offer small businesses? Any ideas except building a website?

An example ... I've read many times offer them SEO but how do you do that? How many keywords would you target a small business? How many links do you need to build for them & how do find good links for them?

Well, this sort of relates to their website, but not building it. But you would have to solicit your services through offline means. How about setting up a mailing list form on their website, and then managing the list through an aweber account or something similar?

How many businesses have these little one-page informational sites with no way to capture visitor information? You can sell the idea that they can send out a monthly or weekly newsletter with "unadvertised" specials. These kinds of things help build customer loyalty and keep them coming back. It would work for just about any kind of business, and they can promote the newsletter to their current customers with in-store advertising, on the receipt/invoice, etc.

*edit* Sorry for the duplicate post - received a 502 gateway error

1) Make 1/2 minute sideshow videos for businesses & put them on Youtube etc.
2) Get them listed on Google Local
3) Get some good 1st/2nd page positions for web 2.0 sites, then charge monthly to promote a business on them - Search for How*ie or Schw*artz on BHW, there is lots here.
4) Offer to list businesses on local & national business directories
5) Learn Google Adwords and setup campaigns for them or start lead generation etc etc

Try giving them a freeby, like a video on Youtube to get their trust & get to understand their business marketing needs, then offer further services (& outsource it on Warrier forum / BHW if necessary)

Read, lear & take action! Cheers

You should read offline gold. Awesome ebook about this sort of stuff. You could offer them PPC management to their site, seo, website building, email list building, etc.

I'm thinking about offering businesses a mailinglist + autoresponder service. I'll give them a basic website "for free". How much could I ask for such a service do you think? Do I need to make a difference between small & bigger businesses? Do you think it's realistic to work on % of generated sales?

if you would do more than offering only a mailing list autoresponder and a basic website. u can make them pay monthly..and even give them an option to upgrade
to a v i p package which they will depending on results.
if you work on commision of generated sales it wil be hard to check whether a costumer came trough your online promoting i think.
But kindly keep me/us updated bout your adventure cause i see a lot of potential in this

Dont think many business would work on % of sale, but being a small business owner myself if you can explain the value of creating a customer mailing list and using an autoresponder service you should be able to make good money.

I dont think it is unreasonable to charge from $250 to $500 for these services. Dont forget that with auto responder you should get small commission thru your affiliate link and offer to do their marketing with the autoresponder and upload new messages weekly and charge small fee from there.

The type of business will dictate a lot of what kind of services will or will not work for their business. If it's a restaurant, you obviously can't market their business 2,000 miles away. the tip for the delivery guy would be impossible to cover.

You would then need to focus on more local options such as craigslist, local business building sites, yellowpages, etc...

For other sites, especially if they can package and mail their products, you have more freedom and options for what you can do.

I would also recommend that you choose a market niche and focus your efforts there instead of trying to be all things to all people.

That doesn't mean you're stuck with just one niche. It means you may have to create a website for each niche. Everyone wants to believe that you specialize in their problems and have a solution just for them.

Hope this helps...

Can someone share offline gold cant find it here.

Offline Gold is on the "Do Not Share" list. There are a couple other programs in the download section that are just as good, if not better. Local Business Money Machines is a great one... so is Offline Domino

Like the online ways knowing your target customer is a great help. You will specifically have your focus in getting your target audience as your customer.

It takes balls to run a great offline business

It's nice to hide behind a screen
