SERPS Seem stuck, no movement despite adding more links?

Hi guys,

One of my sites seems to be stuck, I am ranking #3 for my main term and doing okay for other terms, I keep adding links and mixing things up but my site just doesn't seem to move, the weird thing is that the site above me is down and has been down for quite a number of weeks yet no derank has taken place?

Anyone experience this? If so any advice?

How long have you been 3rd for, what sort of links / how many links are you building per day.

Remember it can take a while for Google to index your links and decide if you need to be ranked higher. Just keep building high quality links daily

I've been 3rd for a few months now, highest I've been is second, this site is less than 6 months old, going after a local term and is an EMD, I've been building links using articles, social bookmarks, videos and directories, out of all of them I'd say 80% of the links are social bookmarks, I am building 5 links per day and have just ramped up to 10 links per day, the top site is a PR 2 site but the interesting thing was that the site above me is down and has been for some time, it looks like the result just haven't moved alot and this goes for my other terms where I'm not seeing the usual dancing.
