    Anyone else using SERP Book?

I signed up about a week ago, and I can't rely on the stats.

I have 10 keywords in the Top 10, and 6 keywords in Top 20, and their stats are regularly off for about 50% of my keywords, sometimes by 30 - 100 places.

I emailed support about this and heard nothing back. Anyone else experienced this and what would you recommend as a more accurate service?

I have never used SERPBOOK but how are you verifying their inaccuracies? I have met a lot of people claiming inaccuracies in rank trackers that were checking ranks in a browser that had personal data stored which then brought up personal results earlier than they actually were.

Not saying that you are doing this but it is something to be aware of as I have encountered even advanced IMers who sometimes make this mistake.

I always verify my rankings by checking them in a fresh instance of an incognito window.

I can assure you that I know how to correctly check my rankings. I'm not new to this.

The service is clearly not working correctly. According to them, one day I'm ranked number 1, then 30, then 125, then 1 again (in the space of a couple of days).

Furthermore, I can also see with my tracking software what people are searching to find my site. No one is looking through 10 pages to find me.

I just signed up a couple of weeks ago as well and have found it to be very inaccurate. Dont know if it will be fixed but as of now I feel like its no good.

I know it is inaccurate because I will track the same URL/Keywords on different campaigns and it will show me different results.

Also the updates show my keywords going back and forth from say X to 0 and then back to X again where I know that keyword does not go in and out of the SERPs so I feel the tracker is missing it every time it updates.

Would appreciate if the owners could fix or at least give us a credit for the tracking not even being close.

Unfortunately I have noticed serpbook being very inaccurate lately. I have seoquake plugin which has counter next to each serp - I search term, turn personal preferences off and start searching..

Hopefully we can hear from them soon and get this narrowed down or I am going to have to try a different tracker, can only search google for so many hours a day..

I use it and its spot on. The reason your numbers bounce is because serpbook connects to various google datacenters and depending on which server they pull from will depend on your ranking.

I could be wrong. But im pretty sure thats the deal.

I have found all rank trackers inaccurate. To verify rankings I use a proxy server but the results are usually a bit different.

I know what you mean, but it seems like such a simple concept why can't any of them get it right?

Right now I'm paying a subscription for a service that is supposed to save me a bit of time, but yet I have to double check everything. Useless.

Yep you are not alone, I have serpbook and my results are inaccurate also..

I also have to double check. Its showing me I ranked #16 but I am really ranked #3.

I tested SerpBook for aprox. 45 days and finally gave up on it. SerpBook is a great idea: We wanted something for lower-rung clients to track their improvements (i.e. the viewkey), but Yahoo! and Bing were virtually never tracked correctly, and there were often dramatic Google discrepancies, as well. As Gyuman noted, one can track the same keys and URLs, either in different or even the same one category, and experience Google ranking discrepancies by as much as 200 and 300 places. This is not a data center issue: There is no one data center for any given Google service region that ranks a URL/keyword #1 in one data center and does not rank it at all in another. SerpBook also does not automatically list the highest ranking URL on a site for a given keyword, which I found odd.

Lanbo was relatively defensive in initial contacts with him about this stuff, in one instance bolding and italicizing "you set it up that way" when doing my best to explain to him that I had not, and that I did indeed understand the "exact URL" feature, etc. Later, I was notified that he had discovered and fixed some bugs - he was notably more mellow in these correspondences. Nonetheless, the problems were never really fixed. I cancelled.

I should note that we use several tools, all of which concur with one another almost exactly: LinkAssistant's "Rank Tracker", MicroSite Masters and one other, the name of which escapes me at the moment (I don't ever use that one myself, just receive reports).

Being fair, it is entirely possible to rank #1 in one data center and #2 or #3 (etc.) in another. Its occasionally possible for these variations to be more pronounced, but not by 50, 100, 200, 300 spots.

I have been having the same issues. Funny thing is I set up one url in several different categories to see what was going on and sometimes they would have different rankings. On 1 occurrence lately 1 said it was ranked "1" another "17" and the third was "0". The correct ranking was 1 as I checked it with private browsing through firefox. So, it is by far no where near perfect. Then again is there any that is perfect?

For the most part it has been pretty accurate and when it is off it usually corrects its self within the next couple of runs it does. With these inaccuracies I do feel they should offer a free version for people to try it first to see if it is accurate enough that they want to pay for it.

This is just my opinion on it but for me personally I will stick with it for now as it is a decent price and still saves me time.

Any old-time users who can verify this? I would really like to get one for an upcoming service. Now I have no other options for rank checkers. I understand that most are off are a little off but I heard SERPBOOK to be the most decent, until now.

Just wanted to come in a say that I actually purchased this from a different forum a few months ago and it has been one of the best investments I've made. Before I was tracking with Market Samurai which required manually running the software every time I wanted to update the rankings then I switched to SEscout and was with them for a few months before finally having to cancel due to incredibly inaccurate results and problem after problem.

I'd check out MicrositeMasters if I were you. MSM only tracks daily but it goes for quality over quantity.

Serpbuddy is actually working these days and though it doesn't update every hour it is a lot more accurate than serpbook at the moment.

Google rankings are somewhat erratic, Yahoo and Bing don't seem to ever get updated.
