SERP Volatility is at an all time high!

Yes it's because Google is focused on it's stupid ai gemini. But it's a great news for us because high authority sites have lost the 1st position to a stupid AI. It's a huge opening for use as the playing field becomes more even.

Yes, I’ve noticed a lot of fluctuation lately. Rankings are jumping around more than usual, especially for competitive niches. It seems Google’s algorithm updates are causing real-time volatility, so tracking with multiple tools like you listed, is definitely useful to spot trends early.

We monitor about 30 domains, and yes, volatility can be seen for both desktop and mobile. Google update is currently underway, but it should primarily focus on the Discovery section on mobile devices.

Either they're testing some update and or the ai serps have an effect. Interesting images, thanks op

I have definitely noticed the charts lighting up like a Christmas tree, but honestly, my actual traffic hasn't swung nearly as much as the tools are saying.

It feels like Google is testing things in the background (maybe more AI stuff?) rather than a full rollout. Usually, when the tools go this crazy, it's best to just sit on your hands for a week. Tweaking things while the SERPs are dancing is a great way to break something that isn't actually broken.

For keywords monitoring we are using:

SERPmonitor.net - very cheap and effective tool.
SEranking - this we use for more detailed insights, more expensive, but very good.
Ahrefs - just small part of keywords monitoring process, backup plan I will say.

No, these domains are not mine, I work for them. And based on data on these 3 tools we see huge volatily recenty. Mostly in DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)

Thanks for sharing your insights, Focl333. It's interesting to see that you're using a combination of SERPmonitor, SEranking, and Ahrefs for keyword monitoring - I've also had good experiences with these tools. Can you tell me more about what you mean by "huge volatility" in the DACH region - are you seeing significant changes in rankings, traffic, or both? And do you think this is directly related to the current Google update, or could there be other factors at play?
