SERP Ranking advice

If I wanted to start from scratch with SEO to rank my site, what would I need to do?

Buy a service directly or start studying to figure out how to do it? (I think there is a lot of quality content in the forum).

I would like to figure out how much I would save.

For a service that people charge $500, how much do you actually spend on guest posts/ links etc.?

whether you'll buy service / hire someone, or do the work yourself you still need to learn how SEO works, otherwise you'll get ripped off easily.

So, I would say l learn how to do it yourself and then you can pay someone to do the parts you don't like / have time for, but under the peace of mind that you know how to assess the results

Right you are. You need to understand what you are getting from SEOs. otherwise you will loose money and projects as well. It will clear-out a lot of misunderstanding as well. Learn some and delegate the job.
