SERP mismatch between two computers, same keyword.

Seems like a simple answer, but I'm unsure, so I'd like to ask you guys.

My friend searches google for my keyword and I rank 7.
I search for my Keyword and I rank 1.

Could this be related to my google account, or previous searches?

Any ideas? Thank you guys!

Log out out gmail and clear cookies. Your friends is right.

There could be 2 reasons

1) You are signed into your google account and so the search is showing you what you normally prefer..Solution to this is ctrl+shift+N if you are using chrome..
2) Your friend might be from other location and rankings differ .Sometimes it takes a while to get updated on other locations too to show updated ranking.

Google have many different databases across the world. You're not always connected to the same one. That's why you see the variations between your site in the serps.

Account's being\not being logged in, cookies (flash based maybe even?) geo targetting\localized SERP's.

As mentioned above, Ctrl+Shift+N is probably a private browsing hotkey. In Firefox I think it's Ctrl+Shift+P. It's typically under File or History, I don't remember what the hotkeys are for Safari or IE.

It is definitely because of IP address locations, gmail account logged in or cookies/cache. Log out, clear cookies and use the same IP address then you will see the same results
