Seriously, am I the only one having problems with nulled themes?

Many a times I tried to download nulled themes, usually just to install the demo in my VPS, change a little bit of the content and show it off to potential clients. Then I'd buy the real license once the contract is closed (and the first part is paid).

Recently I tried downloading the OnAir2 theme from many places and NONE of them worked properly as they were missing the dashboard or some other thing you needed to download from their website. This happened with a few other themes.

Anyone knows how to solve this (also where to find the OnAir2?)? Am I doing something wrong?

Seriously appreciated!

could be an issue with the server, PHP, SQL database etc.
But if the nulled works, there is no reason the original don't!

you need to download from known providers.

Nulled themes these are 99% of hacking problems and set up problams and even virus

Most themes are free on the members download section but clean.

First of all, I don't personally used nulled themes just because I don't want to take even a 1% chance that my site gets hacked as I have first hand experience of how much of a pain in the arse that is.

Secondly, if you do want to go down that route, then check out the marketplace here. I don't want to mention anyone directly as this isnt a WYB thread, but check out the marketplace as there are sellers offering high quality and vetted alternatives to your traditional "nulled themes".

Depends on the source of download, mostly all website take those themes from some not authentic forums and also don't update it on their website.

I checked one of the authentic forums for nulling themes and plugins and I don't see a nulled version there, so you probably have the theme full of malware and vulnerabilities.

This thread has the funniest title. From experience being on this forum, trust me nulled themes are a bad idea from specifically dodgy places.

Using nulled themes is almost always huge problems. Everybody facing troubles with nulled themes, they just don't tell about them.
Firstly, they do not want to admit that they used a broken theme, and secondly, because they got lost

yes can confirm, nulled themes are in 99% always somehow buggy. If on purpose? I don t know but better fake or buy a theme then loosing time with fixing and searching bugs.

Hi, thank you all for your kind answers, really valuable.

As I said, the only reason I downloaded nulled themes was to show to my potential clients the demo with some things changed so they wouldn't recognise it.

After they'd pay me the first instalment to start the project, I'd get the real license and make a whole new website for them.

I thought these nulled themes that came from trusted websites would be... good and working? I heard a lot of people saying good things about Festinger's vault so I thought other websites would work as well since he didn't have the Theme I wanted.

I guess I'd better change strategy...?

EDIT: Fine, I will get it from the marketplace here or just buy the original beforehand.

Any other advices are also welcome, thanks!

What theme are you looking at? I'll upload the genuine version for free if I have it.

This and just this. If you build a serious business with the theme, go safe.

Well now you know the price of free themes.

One of my clients had a nulled theme installed on their website by some Indian guy and later it was hacked. The whole database was messed up, created a bunch of pages in Chinese language and all of theme were ranked by Google as sitemap had all the pages on it. It had like 5000 pages created, I'd imagine how it affected his organic traffic.

Yeah, at least it was before something more drastic happened, like the post just below yours.

Damn... that is really hardcore.

Nulled themes are a lot messed up cracked versions, they usually have a lot of issues or some minor issues that would require some professional who can fix those but since a lot of people are beginners they dont have experience to do it themself. Nulled versions 99 of the time not worth the time.
