My main search term is dancing like crazy at the minute, it's gone from 8th to 9th to 10th to 13th to 16th to 15th to 12th to 10th and is currently sitting at 9th, this is all within the last 10 hours! I've experienced the google dance before but this is crazy, anyone experienced a dance like this before? I know I shouldn't be checking the SERPS this frequent but this shits addictive

Thats nothing, my site with 200k exacts was sitting at #14, then it went out of the scale... came to ~460, then ~170, then ~380 and now it is jumping between 230-300.

Hopefully it will stop in near future so i can see some conversions... i hate when fruit of my labour dances it's dancing shoes to ruin :D

I've been dancing a lot in the last few days mainly in the top 5. Just now in the last 2 hours I had one site dance between position 1 and position 4 with 3 pages of my site occupying the top 5 of that keyword according to my serp checker...seems pretty random at the moment to me.

my site has been dancing between #8 and page 8 and beyond for like since november... can't figure out why yet...

god, i'm hoping it will settle by the end of the day. I didnt realise the serps jumped around so quickly

Don't worry, I've noticed this several times before.
Especially when you start linkbuilding for an aged, but currently unactive, website.

Similar to kirkon, I've had websites jumping from everywhere between #1 to #1000 in the space of a few hours and they've always stablised after a day or so, just relax, crack open a beer, and enjoy the dancing entertainment!

yea I have a site I was working on ranking with 33k exact.I got it to#14 and then bam it got invited to the dance some 200 miles away lol, its a emd so Im not doing any thing crazy with links etc.. just a few bkmrks and small linking as I was letting it gain rank slowly naturally. Anyway I got this in my linked in mail of what is going on
Google has confirmed a new Panda update at the same time that happened in February (or are in progress right now). It would be all but impossible to fully sum up the full slate of changes here, but there are a few that seem especially noteworthy and will no doubt produce a lot of speculation among search marketers. Here's a look at the ones that stand out to me:
Panda 3.3 Update

Here's what Google says about its latest Panda-related change:
Panda update. This launch refreshes data in the Panda system, making it more accurate and more sensitive to recent changes on the web.
SAY WHAT??????????

I thought this was going to be a thread about Michael Jackson.

Seriously thoough, get away with checking that often, you'll drive yourself mad because you'll see that behaviour loads.

yeah well... in my case the site stays in the "outer rim" for a couple of days and then it bounces back to #8 for another couple of days...then resumes the "space...the final frontier" quest. Kinda very very frustrating... especially because I have no clue why it does that... not related to panda anyway..it's been doing that since November.

'Dance' this week has gone through the roof due to Panda 3.3...

Stop checking; you'll give yourself heartburn! ;-)
