Penguin is now officially part of google's core algorithm and it's working real time now. This means that you will see penguin related chances a lot faster and you no longer have to wait for a penguin refresh (which used to take months or years).

But what is more important is another change. I have this from the official google webmasters blog:

Previously you would risk your authority website even if you did some blackhat SEO on one page only. You would risk getting the whole site penalized.

But from now Penguin only penalizes the page with the blackhat SEO, leaving the rest of the website intact. This opens up new opportunities to blackhat SEOs. You no longer will have to start all over again. You could try PBNs on one page, paid links on another page, cloaking, spamming, backdoors on another page.

Let me know what you think.

If what they say is true then blackhat seo just became much easier, if you get penalty for over optimized anchor texts all you have to do is lower the exact match % and voila next time google crawls your site you are back.

Sounds to good to be true. There must be something we don't know yet.

Here is a site that has a number of links to my own website. Do you think it would be considered "spam" and receive penalty....nothing in Webmaster Tools ? webring.org is link to site

What kind of links are those? Do you have the same anchor for all links?

I doubt it. I think after a site reaches a certain bad links level, Google might kill the whole site.

People at google are a bunch of liars. I last believed them when they announced sunder pichai as the CEO.

I see the above sentence differently. To me it doesn't seem google will see each page of a website with different perspective. Rather it will just devalue the spam links then slapping the site with a penalty.

So what google thinks is spam , will not help you rank higher anymore. Ironically, after the announcement of penguin being live i have seen multiple sites soaring high in SERPS for days with blog comments, gsa links only.

I wonder what google considers as spam
